Wind Chill Warning Until 11 AM – Mid Michigan
While I was out measuring snow this morning for my CoCoRahs report, the reality of just how cold it is really set in. At that time my thermometer read -8°F and I’m not sure what the wind chill was. The wind felt like ice when it hit me in the face and I was very happy to get back indoors again. I shoveled out a path for my dogs last night but it was covered this morning. Their little feet get so cold that they can hardly walk but it’s better if they don’t have to walk through measurable snow. So reshoveling out their path was the the first thing I did this morning. We had intermittent snow squalls most of the day giving us an additional 3 inches of new snow. We now have about 9-10 inches of snow cover. Almost everything is closed today including the US Postal Service. I guess you could really say the Michigan is closed.
Our 10 AM temperature is -2.7°F (-19°C), the humidity is 70%, and winds are from the west at 16 mph, gusting to 21 mph. Our wind chill is -23°F (-31°C) and visibility is 3 miles. The pressure is 29.91 in (1012.9 mb) and rising. Yesterday’s high was 17°F (-8°C) and the overnight low was -8°F (-22°C). Sunrise was at 7:53 AM and sunset will be at 5:46 PM.
