Severe Weather Hits Area This Saturday Night – Mid Michigan
Although my area just got rain, Ovid, about 10 miles to our west, was hit by strong winds and damaging hail. Hail stones the size of golf balls to almost baseball size were reported. A friend at a yard party in Ovid even reported seeing a tornado which uprooted a tree on their property. Small thunderstorm cells were moving from the NW to the SE as the evening progressed, and we were under weather advisories most of the evening. We received another 0.13″ of rain giving us a total of 0.38 over the past 48 hours. Prior to that, we received over an inch the past week. So that has certainly helped alleviate the drought conditions, at least for my area.
