After A Stormy Sunday, We Have A Much Cooler Monday – Mid Michigan
Sunday began with very warm temperatures and partly cloudy skies. We were warned early that some possible severe weather would end our day. A severe thunderstorm watch was issued late in the afternoon with storms expected from 8 PM until after midnight. Some of these storms looked impressive on radar, but all we got was a lot of thunder and lightning and heavy rain. Our southern counties weren’t as lucky and I’m hearing that there was quite a bit of wind damage done there. I even heard of a possible tornado near Paw Paw. We were hit by two storms, one late Sunday night, and the other after midnight. We received a total of 0.63″ from both. Some areas got well over an inch. My weather station is showing that we received a total of 2.93″ of rain this month so far, so we certainly can’t complain about a drought. Other areas of the state aren’t as lucky.
Our 3:15 PM temperature is 67°F (19°C), the humidity is 70% and winds are from the NW at 5-21 mph with gust up to 25 mph. The dew point is 58°F (14°C) and the pressure is 30.05 in (1017.6 mb) and rising. Visibility is 10 miles. Yesterday’s high was 83°F (28°C) and the overnight low was 63°F (17°C). Average temps for this date are 77°F / 64°F.
