Preparing For Our First Major Snowstorm – Mid Michigan
There seems to be some difference of opinions on how much snow we’re supposed to get, but the majority of weather gurus in our area seem to be set on 3-6 inches. A few others are saying that it could be as much as 8 inches. It is supposed to start later today as rain, and end sometime Sunday morning. It’s at times like this when I’m happy to be retired and don’t have to drive in it. What’s worse is that we’ve expecting a big drop in the temperatures. In fact, one day next week will only see a high in the low 20s. That means that if this snow is very wet, it will all become icy. I guess we’ll worry about that when and if it happens.
Our 11:30 AM temperature is 37°F (3°C), the humidity is 86% and skies are overcast. The dew point is 32°F (0°C) and the pressure is 29.84 in (1010.5 mb) and steady. Winds are from the SW at 2-6 mph and visibility is 10 miles. Sunrise was at 8:08 AM and sunset will be at 5:11 PM. Yesterday’s high was 33°F (1°C) and the overnight low was 33°F (1°C). Average temps for this date are 31°F/19°F.
