Wet With Falling Temperatures . . . .

Wet With Falling Temperatures . . . .

We reached 60°F this morning, but now temperatures are quickly falling and we have overcast skies and drizzle.  Winds are very strong, making being outdoors very uncomfortable.  The flu is rampant in our state and my husband and I got our flu shots today.  I usually don’t get one, but since I’m getting older, I thought I’d get one this year. Our 1:30 PM temperature is 41°F, the humidity is 82%, and winds are from the west at 20-30 mph,…

Feels Like A Spring Day . . . .

Feels Like A Spring Day . . . .

We better enjoy the next few days because this warm weather is not going to last.  The past two days brought fog, which was very dense on Tuesday.  Visibility was about a mile or less most of the day.  Today brought a mix of sun and clouds and temperatures about 20 degrees above average.  There is very little snow left, just in time to get more early next week. Our 2:45 PM temperature is 53°F, the humidity is 57%, and…

Fog And Rain For Our Tuesday . . . . .

Fog And Rain For Our Tuesday . . . . .

Our weather today is wet but mild.  We had the possibility of freezing rain this morning, but it didn’t happen.  We lost quite a bit of snow yesterday and the next three days are expected to be thaw days.  It’s always nice to get rid of old snow before more falls. Our 10:45 AM temperature is 35°F, the humidity is 94%, and skies are cloudy with light rain,.  Winds are from the ESE at 2-4 mph, and the pressure is…

A Slight Thaw Day . . . .

A Slight Thaw Day . . . .

It isn’t much, but we can see the snow on the deck melting very slowly.  We’ll see even more on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday as our high temps reach from 10-20 degrees above average.  There is still about 3 inches on the ground and I’m sure that we’ll see more snow before winter is done.  It’s nice to have a reprieve from time to time however. Our 3:30 PM temperature is 36°F, the humidity is 66%, and winds are from…

A Nice Early January Day . . . .

A Nice Early January Day . . . .

Today felt quite mild compared to the past few days.  Highs made it up to 30F and winds were light.  Yesterday brought scattered snow showers most of the day and we acquired another half inch of snow.  Our snow pack remains at about 3 inches, and we can look forward to a significant warmup by next weekend. Our 4:45 PM temperature is 26°F, the humidity is 68%, and skies are mostly cloudy.  Winds are from the S at 0-4 mph,…

A Little Sun But Not Much Warmth . . . . .

A Little Sun But Not Much Warmth . . . . .

We have partly cloudy skies this afternoon and a snow cover of about 3 inches.  We had snow showers yesterday which gave us another inch.  This morning brought some light flurries which didn’t add much to our snow cover.  At least the sun makes it brighter but it is still very cold. Our 2 PM temperature is 22°F, the humidity is 65% and winds are from the west at 5-10 mph, and the pressure is 29.70 in and steady.,  The…

More Cold And Snow For Our New Years Day . . . .

After receiving another couple of inches of snow yesterday, today our temperatures are much colder.  We did have a little sun earlier, but now clouds have become dominate.  Highs were supposed to reach the low 20s today but I don’t think it will make it.  We now have snow cover of three inches once again. Our 3:30 temperature is 19°F, the humidity is 67% , and winds are from the west at 5-14 mph.  The pressure is 29.72 in and…

More Snow And Blustery Conditions . . . .

Today was very cold and windy, but not as bad as yesterday.  Our top wind gust yesterday was 56 mph.  This cold air will be with us until at least Monday, but the little warmup that we get won’t last long.  This has been a real winter for us, and I’m ready for it to end.  I don’t mind the snow as much as these cold temperatures.  Yesterday brought scattered, lake effect snow, and we had the same today, just…

Cold, Snowy And A Wind Advisory . . . .

Cold, Snowy And A Wind Advisory . . . .

After a lovely 53 degrees yesterday,  the cold front moved in late yesterday, dropping the temperatures 15 degrees in about 45 minutes.  We had rain all day and some showers were quite heavy.  There was 1.49″ in my rain gauge at 8 AM, and snow began shortly after.  We now have about an inch on the ground with a lot of blowing, and snow squalls continue.  After a high wind warning early today, it has now decreased to a wind…

A Dark, Dreary Day Ahead Of Another Strong Cold Front . . . . .

A Dark, Dreary Day Ahead Of Another Strong Cold Front . . . . .

Today will be on the mild side, ahead of a strong cold air mass which will affect our weather for the next week.  Tomorrow will be the worst with very strong sustained winds and gusts as high as 60 mph.  Today will be rainy with the possibilities of some thunder.  In fact, we heard a little thunder yesterday with the rain, but it was off in the distance.  Some storm chasers reported hail between Owosso and Chesaning.  We received almost…
