We rose this morning to a world of white but it didn’t last long. There was half an inch of new snow on the deck, but by the time we returned home from church, it was gone. We have about 4.5 inches of snow cover as of this morning. Where we cleared the snow, it is down to bare ground. We have very warm temperatures in the forecast for mid week and that should rid us of the rest. I’ve had enough of snow for this season and especially slippery roads. We lost a lot of snow with the warm temperatures that we have had the past two days. There is still about 5.5 inches of snow cover but it is continuing to melt with temps remaining above freezing. The next few days will be cold but then another warmup following that. Most of the ice is gone from the roads and my driveway, and I hope that it is gone for the remainder of the season. It is looking like a beautiful morning with temperatures that almost feel balmy. We still have about 10 inches of snow cover but that should diminish over the next few days. We now have about 14 inches of snow cover with the additional 4 inches that we received overnight . . . . and it’s still coming down. It seems like it will never end. The plow came down our road late yesterday, but now we have more to remove. The forecast is calling for an end around 4 pm and I’m hoping that it will be sooner. Winter storm watches and warnings are already in effect for southern portions of the state. Computer models seem to disagree as to how much we will actually get. It ranges anywhere from 3 to 10 inches, the heaviest affecting southern most Michigan. As luck would have it, I have to work Friday night.
