Now that Hurricane Irma is pretty much history, her remnants are heading for us although it won’t have much affect on our weather. Now that Irma has become a tropical storm and no longer a threat to Florida, we can relax a bit,. All the people that I know are okay and not too much damage. That’s amazing consider the strength of this storm. Most of the folks I know live near and around the Tampa – Orlando areas and they were spared from a storm surge which was their biggest fear. It’s hard to think about anything else these days with friends and relatives facing this horrible hurricane in Florida. I know so many people there, many snowbirds and others who live there year round. Thankfully, the snowbirds are still here and wondering if they’ll have anything to go back to there. Our Labor Day will be seasonable with highs near 80°F and afternoon showers and thunderstorms possible. Our weekend was beautiful and the kids and I enjoyed a lovely campfire the past two nights.
