Unlike many other places in Michigan, I’d say we got off quite easy with this latest winter storm. We only got about 5 inches, and with the sun out, it’s melting pretty fast. We are currently under a Winter Storm Warning, and the amount of snow that we can expect, depends on who you listen to. We should see our temperatures rise today enough to get rid of most of the ice on the ground. We lost quite a bit yesterday, and it was slushy enough to be plow-able. The grader went down the road and removed most of it. We still have about 70% ground cover. Highs today are expected to reach the upper 40s, so that should make a big difference. We had freezing rain yesterday morning which turned to all rain by the afternoon. Our temperature now has reached the 40s , and all the ice on the trees gone. We started the day with clouds, but it has cleared up this afternoon, and the sun is a welcome sight. Our temperatures made it into the low 40s and it feels a bit balmy today. We haven’t had any clouds and winds have been light. For a day in late February, it’s been very nice.
