The Snow Finally Arrived . . . . .

The Snow Finally Arrived . . . . .

The snow began right around noon, and has continued moderately since then.  Most has melted on contact, but some is beginning to stay.  I’d say that we have about half an inch so far.  It is wet and sticking to all the branches of bushes and trees.  It’s actually very pretty.  Our expected snow total is about one inch, but radar is showing quite a bit more still coming, so I’m thinking that we may get a little bit more…

Unseasonably Cold . . . .

Unseasonably Cold . . . .

We have another very cold morning with temps starting out in the mid teens.  There is also a very heavy frost, and that could become snow tomorrow.  It is only expected to be about an inch, but that’s enough to make the roads slippery.  Highs today will only reach the mid 30s, and next week isn’t suppose to warm up until the weekend. Our 10 AM temperature is 28°F (-2°C), the humidity is 76% and winds are from the SW…

Feels Like January . . . . .

Feels Like January . . . . .

This is our coldest day yet this season.  Highs will only make it into the low 30s and thankfully, we don’t have strong winds today.  Next week will bring winter weather with snow expected a few days.  I’m hearing that most will be lake effect, so no telling how much we could get.  I guess it is that time of year, and we usually have had more snow by now than what we have had this year.  No complaining here….

A Beautiful Thanksgiving Day . . . . .

A Beautiful Thanksgiving Day . . . . .

We have a sunny, fairly mild day to cook our turkey.  My husband is cooking it outdoors on the grill, so we were hoping that the weather would be decent.  The weather is expected to take a drastic turn over the next week, and we could see our next substantial snow event.  This month has been really nice for November so I consider us to be very lucky. Our 11 AM temperature is 41°F (5°C), the humidity is 80%, and…

Rain Is Over, Now Just Clouds . . . .

Rain Is Over, Now Just Clouds . . . .

We received about three quarters of an inch of rain yesterday, and it finally ended around sunset.  Our forecast is calling for clear weather for our Thanksgiving, but then snow is not far behind.  We’ve been lucky so far with just the little snow that we got on Halloween.  It will be interesting to see how our winter goes.  It’s supposed to be mild and not much snow. Our 11:30 AM temperature is 39°F (4°C), the humidity is 85%, and…

A Cold And Rainy Morning . . . . . .

A Cold And Rainy Morning . . . . . .

There was  0.50″ of rain in my gauge at 9:30 this morning, and moderate rain has continued since then.  This is expected to last most of the day, and a large mass of precipitation is showing on radar.  I’m glad that my husband got the law mowed over the weekend.  Usually by now the grass is dormant, but not this year.  Originally this was supposed to be snow but even the northern areas of the state are getting rain.  That…

A Typical November Day . . . . .

A Typical November Day . . . . .

This week of Thanksgiving will be typical for November in Michigan.  We could see some rain tonight and tomorrow, but then clearing for the holiday.  We had frost this morning and now clouds have moved in.  Temperatures will be about average and the snow that was in our forecast will probably remain to our north. Our 10:30 AM temperature is 35°F (2°C), the humidity is 78%, and skies are cloudy.  The dew point is 28°F (-2°C).  Winds are from the…

A Good Looking Sunday . . . . .

A Good Looking Sunday . . . . .

It’s a beautiful day with lots of sun and light winds.  For November, it just doesn’t get any nicer.  In fact, the weather this month is nicer than what we had in October.  I’m seeing a lot of Christmas lights going up, and those who decorate are lucky with the weather this year.  Tomorrow should bring some changes and even some rain.  The snow which was in our forecast, seems to have disappeared. Our 1:15 PM temperature is 46°F (8°C),…

Sunny But Cold For Our Saturday . . . .

Sunny But Cold For Our Saturday . . . .

Our morning began with sunny skies and frost.  Temps today won’t make it out of the 40s, but with the sun, it will still be pleasant.   We usually don’t get this many sunny days in November, so this is great weather for us.  It’s perfect for those wanting to get their Christmas lights up before it’s really gets cold next week. Our 1 PM temperature is 48°F (9°C), the humidity is 57%, and winds are from the west at 5…

Blustery With Falling Temps For Our Friday . . . . .

Blustery With Falling Temps For Our Friday . . . . .

We had a little rain this morning.  There was only 0.04″ in my gauge and most seems to be done for the day.  Radar is showing it moving out of the state, and very cold temperatures moving in.  Strong winds will make it even colder but we have to expect that for November.  There is even the mention of snow for next week with some accumulation.  Get ready! Our 10:15 AM temperature is 42°F (6°C), the humidity is 89%, and…
