The Winter Scenario Continues in Mid Michigan

The Winter Scenario Continues in Mid Michigan

We were under a winter storm warning most of yesterday as rain and freezing rain continued.  The first warning expired at noon, then another was issued later in the day.  I couldn’t understand the reason for the second one since there was nothing happening or nothing showing on radar.  Temps remained right at the freezing mark so the road salt took care of driving conditions most of the day.  But now we have a thick layer of ice covering everything and weighing down tree branches.  Hopefully, it will warm up enough to melt.  It never did get as warm as predicted yesterday which is getting to be a normal thing.  It’s hard to believe that our highs should be close to 60° now and we aren’t even getting close.  I can’t ever remember having weather like this in April before.

Our 10 AM temp is 33°F (0°C), the humidity is 95% and skies are cloudy.  Winds are from the west at 13 mph and the dew point is 32°F (0°C).    The pressure is 29.61 in (1002.4 mb) and steady.  Visibility is 10 miles and the dew point is 32°F (0°C).  Yesterday’s high was 34°F (1°C) and the overnight low was 32°F (0°C).  Sunrise was at 6:53 AM and sunset will be at 8:19 PM.  Average temps for this date are 56°F / 37°F.
