A Warmer, Almost Pleasant Groundhog Day In Mid Michigan

Although we don’t see much snow melting, at least the temperatures are tolerable.  Even the doggies stayed out a little longer this morning and the snow on my deck has melted to where it is just wet where shoveled.  That’s a major improvement over the past few days.   Our temperature is already warmer than what was predicted and that makes me happy.  The Pennsylvania groundhog apparently did not see his shadow not that it matters anyway.  Our weather does it’s own thing.

Our 2 PM temperature is 42°F (6°C), the humidity is 76%, and winds are from the southwest at 8 mph, gusting to 17 mph.  The wind chill is 36°F (2°C) and the dew point is 34°F (1°C).  The pressure is 29.96 in  (1014.6 mb) and falling. Skies are overcast.  Our snow cover remains at about 9 inches.  Yesterday’s high was 15°F (-9°C) and the overnight low was 13°F (-11°C).  Averages for this date are 28°F / 14°F.
