Hopefully, This Is The Last Of Our Frigid Weather – Mid Michigan
I have been in the hospital over the past two days, so I’ve been absent from the weather observations. I know that it was frigid yesterday, and it was a bit of a shock from when I went in on Saturday night. Today will be a little warmer, but not as much as what we will see this weekend. Highs should finally reach the 40s and we are all hoping that this single digit stuff is over for the year. Normals now should be near 40°F and mother nature has had a difficult time maintaining that temp. We are all very tired of polar vortexes.
Our 9:45 AM temperature is 13°F (-11°C), the humidity is 75% and winds are from the southwest at 10 mph, gusting to 18 mph. The wind chill is 0°F (-18°C). The pressure is 29.93 in (1016.6 mb) and falling. Skies are mostly cloudy with haze and visibility is 2 miles. We had light snow overnight leaving 0.01″ in my gauge. The dew point is 6°F (-14°C). Yesterday’s high was 15°F (-9°C) and the overnight low was 5°F (-15°C). Averages temps for this date are 36°F / 21°F. Sunrise this morning was at 7:06 AM and sunset will be at 6:30 PM.
