A Great Lightning Show In Mid Michigan

I know that I often complain that all the big storms miss us.  Well, that wasn’t the case last night.  We had two powerful storms move over us late last night about an hour apart.  The first  dropped 0.74″ of rain, and the second 0.28″.  I’m amazed that most areas didn’t get as much rain as we did, but the lightning was impressive with over 1000 lightning strikes showing on my weather station.  There is even a report of an unverified tornado in the Fenton area.  There were numerous severe weather warnings and even some tornado warnings as these storms passed by. By midnight, the moon was shining.  Today is much cooler with a nice breeze.

Our 1:30 PM temperature is 76°F, the humidity is 64%, and skies are partly to mostly cloudy.  Winds are from the WNW at 3-12 mph, and the dew point is 61°F.  The pressure is 29.69 in and rising, and visibility is 11 miles.  Sunrise was at 6:08 AM, and sunset will be at 9:15 PM.  Yesterday’s high was 84°F and the overnight low was 64°F.  Average temps for this date are 82°F / 60°F.
