Happy Groundhog Day From Mid Michigan
Although the PA groundhog, Phil, is predicting more winter ahead, NOAA is saying something else. My picture shows NOAA’s recent temperature predictions for almost half of February and it is showing a significant warmup for the eastern half of the US. So who will be right? Science or rodent? I guess that time will tell. As for me, I’m hoping that NOAA is correct. Our high today should make it to the freezing mark, and hopefully, melt some of the snow. Now that we can clearly see our daylight hours increasing, I’m ready for spring. We have sun this morning but clouds are expected to move in this afternoon. We could even get a few snow showers. Tomorrow is expected to be frigid, but then a big warm-up for the weekend and into next week. Yay!
Our 10:30 AM temperature is 26°F, the humidity is 72%, and skies are clear. Winds are from the southwest at 7-15 mph, and the wind chill is 17°F. Visibility is 11 miles and the dew point is 17°F. Yesterday’s high was 26F and the overnight low was 17°F. Average temps for this date are 30°F / 15°F. Record temps for February 1 are 55°F / -11°F. Sunrise was at 7:52 AM and sunset will be at 5:50 PM.
