Rain Has Moved In To Mid Michigan

The expected rain began about three hours ago, and although it isn’t heavy, it’s just hard enough to get you wet if you go out in it.  We had to do shopping today, but it wasn’t too bad.  Temperatures are in the 40s and only expected to reach the mid 50s today.  I’m not sure that’s going to happen.  This mass of cold air will remain with us through the weekend and into next week.  Even the first couple of day of May will be cold and we could even see some snow flurries.  But optimists are saying that it will be warm from here on beginning late next week.  You notice I said “optimists”.

Our 1:45 PM temperature is 49°F (9°C)and we have light rain.  The humidity is 89%, and skies are overcast.  Winds are from the NE at 4-7 mph and the dew point is 44°F (7°C).  The pressure is 29.76 in (1007.8 mb) and steady.  Yesterday’s high was 62°F (17°C) and the overnight low was 40°F (4°C).  Average temps for this date are 63°F/40°F.  Visibility is 6 miles.  Sunrise was at 6:36 AM and sunset will be at 8:34 PM.
