Snow Cover Will Be With Us For A While . . . .

The snow began around noon yesterday and continued most of the day.  It stopped around sunset and left about 3/4 of an inch on the ground.  Much was melting on contact early on.  Temps today aren’t expected to even reach freezing, so it will probably remain for a few days.  We could still see a little more today as lake effect snow squalls will continue.  They are usually brief and don’t come this far inland, so I’m not expecting much more in accumulations, but we never know.

Our 9:45 AM temperature is 27°F (-3°C), the humidity is 75%, and skies are cloudy.  Winds are from the W at 3-11 mph, and our wind chill is 21°F (-6°C).  The pressure is 29.71 in (1006.1 mb) and rising, and visibility is 10 miles.  The dew point is 19°F (-7°C).  Yesterday’s high was 35°F (2°C) and the overnight low was 26°F (-3°C).  Average temps for this date are 41°F/27°F.  Sunrise was at 7:44 AM and sunset will be at 5:06 PM EST.
