A Gloomy, Cold New Years Day . . ..

New Years Eve was uneventful for us, and the ball dropped without much fanfare here at our house.  It doesn’t cause much excitement for us anymore and just marks the end of the Christmas activity for the most part.  Our weather was misty but not cold enough to freeze, at least until early this morning.  There was a light covering of snow on my deck and other smooth surfaces  and most has melted.  Highs today never made it above freezing so there is still a trace of snow here and there.

Our 4 PM temperature is 29°F, the humidity is 86%, and skies are overcast.  Once again, we were supposed to see a little sun today and it never happened.  Winds are from the west at 1-6 mph, and the dew point is 25°F.  Visibility is 10 miles and the pressure is 30.06 in and steady.  Yesterday’s high was 38°F and the overnight low was 28F.  Average temps for this date are 31F/19F.  Sunrise was at 8:09 AM and sunset will be at 5:13 PM.
