More Heat For Us . . . .

More Heat For Us . . . .

After a much cooler Wednesday, today the heat is back on.  Conditions are right for popup thunderstorms, and some could even be severe.  This morning was mostly clear but now clouds are moving in.  Storm cells are already forming on radar but they are all to our south at this time.  I’m sure, with this heat and humidity, we’ll see some by day’s end. Our 12:15 PM temperature is 85°F, the humidity is 72% and skies are mostly cloudy.  Winds…

Stormy Weather . . . .

Stormy Weather . . . .

Yesterday began with sun, then became stormy in the late afternoon.  We were under a severe TS warning for awhile, but what we got was a mega rainstorm which dumped over an inch of rain on  us in about an hour.  It wasn’t a severe storm by any means, just a very wet one.  It did, however, bring the temperatures down which was a blessing.  At the final moments of the storm, the sun came out and we had a…

Another Heat Advisory Day . . . .

Another Heat Advisory Day . . . .

I hope that hot weather lovers are enjoying this, because I don’t think that most of us are.  I’m so thankful for air conditioning.  I wouldn’t be able to sleep without it.  My thoughts go out to the road construction workers who have to do their jobs in this heat.  At least it will cool down a little after today. Our 9:30 AM temperature is 84°F, the humidity is 66%, and winds are from the SW at 4-9 mph.  Skies…

The Heat Is On . . . .

The Heat Is On . . . .

We are under a heat advisory with heat indexes reaching triple digits.   Yesterday felt like walking into a furnace and today, and the next few days, won’t be much better.  They are saying that we could break some records today and tomorrow, and that wouldn’t surprise me.  This is a good day to spend it at a lake somewhere, with plenty of sun block. Our 9:15 AM temperature is 83°F, the humidity is 73%, clear skies, and winds are from…

Extreme Heat Watch . . . .

Extreme Heat Watch . . . .

After a very stormy past two days, we should see quite a bit of sun and very warm temperatures in our near future.  Thunderstorms are a possibility but nothing severe is expected.  We had a lot of rain Wednesday and even a tornado in the Detroit area.  Out total rainfall for the past two days was 1.14″.  This  morning is cloudy with a few peeks of the sun.  There isn’t much precip showing on radar at this time. Our  9:15…

Significant Storms Expected Today . . . .

Significant Storms Expected Today . . . .

A round of severe storms is likely later today.  Radar now is showing small cells developing in various parts of the state.  We just had a quick shower and I’m sure there’s a lot more coming.  It is significantly cooler today, and that makes me very happy since our AC went out yesterday.  The repair man can’t come until this afternoon.  So it won’t be too bad. Our 10 AM temperature is 71°F, the humidity is 91%, and skies are…

Summer-Like Weather . . . .

Summer-Like Weather . . . .

Su Today really feels like summer with temps well into the 80s, and clear skies.  We had to go into Lansing this morning and the drive was beautiful.  I plan to spend the remainder of the day outdoor.  We have a stormy system heading our way for Wednesday, and it could be very turbulent.  I hope it remains tranquil for us. Our 3:30 PM temperature is 86°F (30°C), the humidity is 42%, and skies are mostly clear.  Winds are from…

A Nice Summer Day . . . .

A Nice Summer Day . . . .

It’s a beautiful day.  The sun is bright, temperatures are warm, and there is just enough breeze to keep it comfortable.  Yesterday was cloudy most of the day, and we had a few sprinkles early.  There wasn’t even enough rain to register in my rain gauge.  We expect the next rain event on Wednesday, and we are already warned that conditions could be right for severe weather. Our 1 PM temperature is 74°F, the humidity is 50%, and winds are…
