Our morning is very warm and humid, typical for a July day in Michigan. Yesterday was sunny but the smoke from the Canadian wildfires was very evident in our skies and even looking at the horizon. Today is sunny but our skies look rather grey from the smoke from the western wildfires. Temperatures are much warmer than what we have had and that’s good for those who like hot weather. We are heading back to the north country tomorrow and the extended forecast looks pretty good for us. There is a slight chance of rain a few days but no total washouts expected. Yesterday was supposed to be rainy and it wasn’t. Not one drop fell here. Today is also supposed to be wet but nothing so far. My flowers in my beds are looking good, but those in my pots are looking pretty bad. There is even mold forming on the dirt. Today was supposed to be rainy, but I’m seeing now that NOAA has reduced our rain chances to just 30%. I’m hoping that we don’t get any. The mosquitoes are horrid with all the rain that we’ve had. The rain began about 8 PM last night and has increased in intensity since then. We were supposed to go home today but extended our stay one day since we don’t like packing up in the rain. This is expected to continue all day and into tomorrow morning. I’m not sure what we’ll do today since the weather will not be suitable for being outdoors.
