Our morning sky is clear but a grayish tint is visible. There are wild fires in northwestern Canada that are causing this. We received storm after storm on Saturday with severe thunderstorm warnings frequently issued. They mainly passed over without consequence in my area but dropped 1.27″ of rain in all. Watching the radar, many were forming just to our west and increasing in strength as they moved east. Today should see a bit of drying out with sun in the forecast. It seems like we are never going to warm up this year. Temperatures can’t even make it to the predicted highs. We were suppose to reach 70° yesterday and my thermometer only read 63° as the warmest. The weather this month has been very unseasonable for us. Usually May brings warm temps and sunny skies. This year, it has seemed more like April. We have had way too much rain and very few days where the high has reached the average levels. Our Monday is beginning with plenty of sun, light breezes and warm temperatures. It couldn’t be any nicer. Yesterday was mostly dry but we did have a moderate shower in the afternoon. Temps reached the upper 70s and the humidity made it feel like July. Today is cooler with less humidity and there is another chance for more rain which we certainly don’t need. The central sections of the state have flooding but we have been lucky.
