Looking at the radar, it appears that most of the rain is right over my area,. Fortunately, it isn’t large so I don’t think that it will last too long. Regardless, we don’t need anymore rain. None of the farmers around here have done any planting. Most of the fields are untouched. The corn is supposed to be knee high by the fourth of July, and it isn’t even planted. Most of us are wondering if summer will ever happen this year. Once again we have temperatures much below normal, and it seems that the rain will never stop. We received another quarter of an inch overnight. We’ve been having to mow the lawn about every four days and parts of the yard can’t be mowed because it won’t dry up. Tuesday was beautiful, both in Northern Michigan and lower portions of the state. We drove home yesterday and had to detour around one road which had been washed out by Sunday’s storms. After the clouds cleared away yesterday, it turned into quite a nice day. The morning was cold, windy, and damp, but the sky began to clear about 5 PM and the evening was very pleasant. Yesterday began with a little sun and very mild temperatures. Then the rains came around mid afternoon, becoming very heavy by nightfall. We are blessed with another beautiful morning and the campground has really filled up. People were coming in droves last night and there was a lot of activity for a change.
