A Nice Change In Our Weather – Mid Michigan

A Nice Change In Our Weather – Mid Michigan

After a wet, dreary Wednesday, today is bright and sunny but temperatures are below average once again.  There is little wind and with the sun, it is very pleasant.  I’m hearing predictions of a very snowy winter for our part of the country, and that has come from three different sources.  Could they all be wrong?  At least, being retired, I don’t have to worry about trying to get to work in a snowstorm.  Those days are past, but we…

Rain And Cooler Temps For Mid Michigan

Rain And Cooler Temps For Mid Michigan

The rain began late last night and is continuing this afternoon.  There was 0.21″ in my gauge at 9AM and it has been raining since then.  Temps have been dropping all morning and are now in the 40s.  I’m glad that I don’t have to go anywhere today.  It’s not a pretty day at all. Our 12:30 PM temp is 45°F, the humidity is 95%, and skies are overcast with light rain.  Winds are from the NW at 4-13 mph…

Rain On The Way For Mid Michigan

Rain On The Way For Mid Michigan

It looks like our wonderful weather is coming to an end.  We are seeing increasing clouds as the day goes on and rain is in the forecast for tonight.  Temperatures will still be mild  so it should be pleasant one last day.  A local meteorologist said yesterday that we should continue to see many above average temps well into November so I hope he’s right. Our 11AM temperature is 66°F, the humidity is 48%, and winds are from the SW…

Our Last Warm, Sunny Day Before The Transition – Mid Michigan

Our Last Warm, Sunny Day Before The Transition – Mid Michigan

My husband and I took a ride early today to see what remains of our autumn colors.  Many trees are already bare, but the maples seem to be hanging tough.  It is absolutely gorgeous with highs now expected in the upper 70s today.  There is just enough breeze to feel comfortable and the humidity is low.  As I’ve said before, this autumn season has been spectacular here in mid Michigan and I hate to see it end. Our 2 PM…

Another Wonderful Unseasonable Day In Mid Michigan

Another Wonderful Unseasonable Day In Mid Michigan

Yesterday was great but today is even better.  We should see high temps reaching the mid 70s although it will be quite breezy.  But we won’t complain.  This should continue up to Tuesday when more rain is expected.  This autumn season has been wonderful and I wouldn’t mind a bit if it stretched into November, but I don’t think that will happen.  Just thankful for what we’re getting. Our 12:30 PM temperature is 69°F, the humidity is 43%, and skies…

A Lovely Sunny Day In Mid Michigan

A Lovely Sunny Day In Mid Michigan

After the cold, rainy weather of the past 2 days, we now have plenty of sun and much warmer temperatures.  This is expected to last through the next 3 days.  It is certainly welcome after the miserable weather that we had, but I guess we may as well get used to it.  With November knocking on the door, I have a feeling that we are going to see a lot of  this coming soon. Our 1 PM temperature is 65F,…

Weather Transition For Mid Michigan

Weather Transition For Mid Michigan

Our morning began with clouds and rain, but now the sun is out and temps are warming up a bit.  They should only reach the upper 40s, but with the sun, that will be pleasant.  It was raining when we went to the store this morning, and it appeared to be mixed with a little snow.  Some on my flowers are still hanging in there.  My mums are in full bloom and the roses are looking good.  My hanging baskets…

Today, A Repeat Of Yesterday – Mid Michigan

Today, A Repeat Of Yesterday – Mid Michigan

At least, it isn’t raining today and we could see a little clearing later on.  Other than that, there isn’t much of a change from what we had yesterday.  Temperature are much below normal, and we continue to have brisk winds which make it feel even colder.  We received close to half an inch of rain yesterday and last night, and I think it is done for the day.  Some places in northern Michigan have well over a foot of…

Wet, Windy And Cold In Mid Michigan

Wet, Windy And Cold In Mid Michigan

Today is a dark, dreary day with intermittent rain falling.  Yesterday’s showers brought us our first snow of the season, and even though it was a snow and rain mix, it still looked like white flakes to me.  There is no snow falling today, although it certainly is cold enough.  It looks and feels like a day in late November and a local meteorologist said that there are 18 ft. waves on Lake Michigan today, and 24 ft. waves on…

Could See Our First Snow – Mid Michigan

Could See Our First Snow – Mid Michigan

Although our temperatures are much below average, we are expecting another warmup by the weekend.  Temps could rise to near 70F once again.  But before that happens, we could get our first taste of snow.  No accumulations are expected but flurries are indeed a possibility.  The weather this year has certainly been a roller coaster, and just when we think there will be no more warm temps, Mother Nature surprises us.  We have a wedding to go to on Friday,…
