First Part Of Winter Storm Is Past, But There Is More To Come – Mid Michigan

We received 2.5 inches of snow overnight and I woke to sleet.  There didn’t seem to be any freezing rain however.  Most schools are closed and we are expecting the wrap around effect of this storm to hit later on.  Local predictions are saying another 2-4 inches.  I don’t have  anywhere that I have to be today so I’m happy about that.

Our 1 PM temperature is 34.2°F (1°C), the humidity is 92%, and winds are from the NE at 5 mph.  The pressure is 29.55 in (1000.7 mb) and falling.  The dew point is 30°F (-1°C) and visibility is 4 miles.  Skies are cloudy with no precipitation at this time.  Yesterday’s high was was 30°F (-1°C) and the overnight low was 26°F (-3°C),  Normals for this date are 29°F / 16°F.  Sunrise was at 7:38 AM and sunset will be at 6:03 PM.

Rain and snow, becoming all snow after 7pm. Areas of blowing snow after 10pm. Low around 22. Breezy, with a west southwest wind 10 to 15 mph increasing to 18 to 23 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 43 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
