3 Inches Of New Snow For Mid Michigan

The snow began yesterday around 1 PM and we had whiteout conditions at times.  It is light and fluffy, so easy to shovel.  We received 3 inches of new snow and our snow cover is now about 5.2 inches.  There is still a layer of ice underneath which never got a chance to melt.  We will see temps warming up a bit as the week goes on and we could see the 40s by week’s end.

Our 8:30 AM temperature is 18°F (-8°C), the humidity is 82% and skies are mostly cloudy with a few breaks in the clouds.  Winds are from the N at 8 mph giving us a wind chill of 8°F (-13°C).  The pressure is 30.11 in (1019.7) mb) and rising.  Visibility is 10 miles and the dew point is 14°F (-10°C).  Yesterday’s high was 26°F (-3°C) and the overnight low was 17°F (-8°C).  Sunrise was at 7:29 AM and sunset will be at 6:11 PM.
