Flood Watches And Warnings For Southern Lower Michigan

Flood Watches And Warnings For Southern Lower Michigan

We had light to moderate to heavy rain all day Friday with very few breaks.  Today hasn’t been quite as bad so far, but more heavy rain is predicted for later today.  There was 1.77″ of rain in my gauge this morning and my weather station is showing a total of 2.52″ over the past 48 hours.  The CoCoRahs map showed that some areas near Detroit and Ann Arbor got over 5 inches.  I’m also seeing that the western side of the state is under a tornado watch.  Showers and thunderstorms continue to dot our radar map, and I hope that no one had any outdoor activities planned.  Unfortunately, there continues to be rain in the forecast for the next 4-5 days.  I think it’s safe to say that the state-wide drought is over.

Our 2:45 PM temperature is 77°F (25°C), the humidity is 93%, and skies are overcast with sprinkles.  Winds are from the SSE at 3-10 mph, gusting to 16 mph, and visibility is 7 miles.  The dew point is 72°F (22°C) and the pressure is 29.86 in (1011.2 mb) and falling.  Yesterday’s high was 71°F (22°C) and the overnight low was 66°F (19°C).  Average temps for this date are 79°F / 57°F.  Sunrise was at 5:58 AM and sunset will be at 9:19 PM.
