We have gorgeous weather for our holiday weekend with summer-like temperatures. Today should reach the low 80s and highs near 90°F tomorrow. Today feels like a day in July with the air so full of moisture. We have had stop-and-go rain since this morning, although showers are becoming more numerous as the afternoon wears on. I went out and bought more perennials today, as I’m trying to change all my gardens to them so I don’t have to keep replanting every year. Yesterday began with clear skies, but it didn’t last long. About 2 PM, the clouds started rolling in, and the radar showed developing small scattered cells of thunderstorms developing , mainly to our south. Once again, we have a nice, sunny morning. Temperatures are rising quickly which will probably usher in some storms this afternoon. The Weather Service is telling us to expect some strong storms, possible reaching severe level. We really could use the rain but not damaging winds or hail.
