A Sunny Day But Cold . . . .

A Sunny Day But Cold . . . .

To look out the window, it seems like a beautiful spring day.  Then you walk outside, and the wind feels like January.  At least we aren’t getting anymore rain.  The river is overflowing it’s banks and many roads are flooded that usually don’t flood.  Some have even been washed out.  I just hope it is done for awhile. Our 3 PM temperature is 33°F, the humidity is 43%, and skies are clear.  Winds are from the SE at 0-6 mph…

A Mix Of Rain And Sun . . . .

A Mix Of Rain And Sun . . . .

Today is one of those days that Mother Nature isn’t sure what she wants to do.  Our morning was overcast, but now it’s an even mix of sun and clouds.  Every so often we get some sprinkles of rain thrown into the mix.  The area is still recovering from all the rain that we got, and a flood warning remains in effect for our county.  Right now the sun is out and temperatures are a little below the average.  It’s…

A Cold Easter Sunday . . . .

A Cold Easter Sunday . . . .

We have had a very wet April so far.  Since the beginning of the month, we have had 3.67″ of rainfall and I’m seeing standing water where their usually never is any.  The river is very high and there are lakes in many of the farm fields.  There were two possible tornadoes yesterday.  One was near Monroe and the other in the Detroit area.  Today the rain has finally ended and I’m now seeing some blue sky peeking though the…

Excessive Rain . . . .

Excessive Rain . . . .

Our yard is partially under water from all the rain that we’ve had the past 36 hours.  Radar is still showing a lot more coming before it is done.  I can’t believe that there are no flood warnings or watches issued.  Highs are supposed to reach into the 60s today, then back in the 30s tonight.  This weather lately has been crazy. Our 11 AM temperature is 42°F, the humidity is 95%, and skies are overcast with moderate rainfall.  Winds…

Falling Temperatures For The Weekend . . . .

Falling Temperatures For The Weekend . . . .

Our fickle weather continues.  We had thunderstorms overnight which left a little over half and inch in my gauge.  Temperatures were in the 60s all night, then started dropping this morning.  At least we aren’t getting snow or freezing rain.  Sunday is Easter, and it will feel like anything but spring.  Highs are expected to only reach the 40s but we’re going to cook out anyway. Our 2:30 PM temperature is 53°F, the humidity is 74% and winds are from…

More Erratic Weather . . . .

More Erratic Weather . . . .

Today feels very cold compared to what we have had lately, but we have more warm temps tomorrow.   It will be just in time for another surge of cold air, giving us severe storm conditions again.  This is getting old. Our 5:45 PM temperature is 36°F, the humidity is 75%, and skies are mostly cloudy.  Winds are from the north at 2-9 mph, and the pressure is 30.22 in and steady.  The dew point is 26°F and visibility is 10…

Severe Weather Possible . . . . .

Severe Weather Possible . . . . .

Last night’s storms totally missed us, but we have another chance to see some later today.  Radar is showing that most will be tame in our area, but we never know.  Once again the heavy storms are rolling through the middle portions of the lower peninsula so a narrow band may affect us.    Highs today reached into the 70s but will be falling once this last batch of storms moves through. Our 5 PM temperature is 68°F, the humidity…

Stormy Weather On The Way . . .

Stormy Weather On The Way . . .

We had a beautiful morning and afternoon, but now clouds are moving in and we can expect some pretty hefty storms tonight and tomorrow.  Hail seems to be the biggest threat but damaging winds and even tornadoes aren’t out of the question. Our 4:15 PM temperature is 73F, the humidity is 39%, and skies are cloudy.  Winds are from the SW at 3-11 mph, and the pressure is 29.83 in and falling.  The dew point is 38F and visibility is…

A New Round Of Warmer Weather . . . .

A New Round Of Warmer Weather . . . .

Warmer weather is on the way over the next three days, then we’re back to another cool down and stormy weather.  At least the warm weather is sticking around longer and hopefully, we won’t see anymore ground cover. Our 1:15 PM temperature is 55°F, the humidity is 38%, and skies are mostly cloudy.  Winds are from the SW at 5-12 mph, and the pressure is 30.18 in and falling.  The dew point is 24°F and visibility is 17 miles.  Yesterday’s…

Pleasant But Chilly . . . .

Pleasant But Chilly . . . .

We had a lot of sun today but it didn’t do much to warm it up.  The high today only made it up to 43°F.  Temps will be much warmer the next three days with highs reaching the 70s on Tuesday.  Unfortunately temps that warm usually mean more severe weather.  These up-and-down temperatures are causing a lot of problems.  Extreme heat in the midwest is creating high fire danger.  As for us, we have high river levels and water standing…
