Plenty Of Sun . . . .

Plenty Of Sun . . . .

Our day began with chilly temperatures and dense fog.  Visibility was less than half a mile until about 10 AM.  Temps began to rise as the sun burned off the fog and now our afternoon is very pleasant.  We aren’t expecting any rain until Sunday night, and that’s when Hurricane Francine may reach us.  That’s still uncertain and she may move more to the east before reaching us. We could use an extended dry spell. Our 4:30 PM temperature is…

More Summer-Like Weather . . . .

More Summer-Like Weather . . . .

We continue to  have summertime weather in between the cold fronts that descend on us every week.  But for September, I’m not complaining.  Our weather has been beautiful so far this autumn.  I’m sure that the boaters appreciate it, and are hoping for another month or so for this to continue.  There is a slight chance for some rain mentioned in the forecast, but I don’t think it will happen. Our 12 noon temperature is 72°F (22°C), the humidity is…

Still Quite Chilly . . . .

Still Quite Chilly . . . .

Although today will be warmer than yesterday, temps will still be much below where they should be.  But we have another bout of very warm air knocking on our door, so summer isn’t over just yet.  This is my favorite time of year, and even though we see our hours of daylight quickly diminishing, the bugs are too.  There is still plenty of daylight for outdoor activities, so it’s good. Our 11:45 AM temperature is 64°F (18°C), the humidity is…

Really Feels Like Autumn . . . .

Really Feels Like Autumn . . . .

It is just plain cold out there today.  The sky is cloudy and with no sun, it feels even colder.  I don’t think we’ll see much sun today . . .  maybe just a few peeks here and there.  Yesterday, the radar was dotted with small cells of scattered showers, but they all seemed to miss us.  If we had a few sprinkles during the day, I didn’t notice.  Temperatures today will remain mostly in the upper 50s and that’s…

A Dreary Morning . . . .

A Dreary Morning . . . .

After a hot, sunny Thursday, our weather took a turn for the wet late last night.  We had a line of thundershowers move over dropping a little over half an inch in my gauge.  I think the rain is over for the day, but skies are overcast and it seems quite dark out.  We are losing about 3 minutes of daylight every day now, and it is quite noticeable, especially in the evening.  Meteorlogically speaking, autumn is here. Our 9AM…

Much Warmer Today . . . .

Much Warmer Today . . . .

Just when we thought the hot weather was over, Mother Nature sends more.  At least it is now just a day here and there.  I notice that the mosquitoes love these hot temps, and make their presents felt whenever we have a day like this.  There is rain in our forecast for tonight and early tomorrow, so that should cool it off once again. Our 12 noon temperature is 80°F (27°C), the humidity is 58%, and skies are clear.  Winds…

Cool And Bright . . . .

Cool And Bright . . . .

This morning was a bit chilly, but with the sun, it is warming up fast.  Winds are very light so no wind factor there.  I’m seeing a brownish tint to the otherwise blue sky, so I’m thinking that we have smoke from some of the wildfires overhead.  Otherwise, it’s a good day just to get out and enjoy. Our 1:45 PM temperature is 75°F (24°C), the humidity is 45%, and winds are from the SE at 3-6 mph.  The pressure…

Great Weather Continues . . . .

Great Weather Continues . . . .

This is wonderful weather that we’re having.  Although our high temps are below where they should be, that’s fine with me.  Winds are very light, the humidity and dew points are low, and we have plenty of sun.  There is still no mention of rain until Thursday night. Our 2:15 PM temperature is 72°F (22°C), the humidity is 43%, and winds are calm.  The pressure is 30.24 in (1024.1 mb) and falling.  The dew point is 47°F (8°C) and visibility…

A Beautiful Labor Day . . . .

A Beautiful Labor Day . . . .

We couldn’t have a nicer day for the holiday, unless you’re a fan of hot weather.  I’m not so this is great for me.  Highs today will be mostly in the upper 60s, and we could reach 70°F by this afternoon.  Regardless, there will be plenty of sun and our forecast is calling for dry weather most of this week.  Temperatures will be mainly in the 70s and that’s perfect for me. Our 12:45 PM temperature is 66°F, the humidity…

A Very Pleasant Day Ahead . . . .

A Very Pleasant Day Ahead . . . .

Today should be a fine day for those getting their last camping trips in for the year.  It should be dry with very comfortable temperatures.  We are a bit on the cool side this morning, but it feels good.  The humidity is much lower, and so is the dew point.  I’ll take it! Our 11:30 AM temp is 72°F, the humidity is 68%, and winds are from the N at 3-7 mph.  The pressure is 29.87 in and rising, and…
