Yesterday brought a couple of thundershowers which left 0.22″ in my rain gauge. They didn’t last long but produced moderate rainfall when they came. There was a lot of damage from Thursday night’s storms. There were six confirmed tornadoes just in the Detroit area. Then there were two in Livingston County and another near Grand Rapids. Heavy thunderstorms moved over the eastern half of the lower peninsula yesterday morning and afternoon, dropping as much as 5 inches of rain in some areas near Detroit. It was a cool day until late in the afternoon when it cleared up a bit. That’s when it really got hot.
