A Little Rain For Our Thursday Morning – Mid Michigan

A Little Rain For Our Thursday Morning – Mid Michigan

This morning is dark and wet with showers moving in about 8 AM.  Radar is showing that the rain won’t last long and skies should be clearing later this morning.  It shouldn’t be too bad of a day.  Highs will be above average once again and winds will be moderate.  This is the last day of November and we haven’t had anything to complain about so far this Fall-Winter season.  I hope that it continues as such with no extremes. …

Possible Records Broken Yesterday – Mid Michigan

Possible Records Broken Yesterday – Mid Michigan

Local meteorologists were saying that new records were set yesterday regarding high temps, but I have found different data.  The high in Flint was 66°F but we didn’t get quite that warm here where I am.  I live in the country and I know that it is always a little warmer in town.  The data that I have found shows a record high of 70°F for yesterday’s date set back in 1905.  Regardless, it was very warm, almost to the…

Mild and Windy For Our Tuesday – Mid Michigan

Mild and Windy For Our Tuesday – Mid Michigan

Our Tuesday is starting out with plenty of sun but strong winds.  Temperatures are expected to be above normal for the next 10 days or so, and just a few rainy periods thrown in the mix.  Since most of November has seen below normal temps, I wouldn’t be surprised if December was the opposite.  That’s the way this whole year has been.  We may see some showers move in by tonight but no heavy amounts are expected. Our 8:30 AM…

Another Round of Above Normal Temps For Mid Michigan

Another Round of Above Normal Temps For Mid Michigan

The extended forecast for the next 10 days is calling for temperatures above normal once again.  So this pattern seems to be continuing right into December.  I love it.  I’m not ready for winter weather yet.  As Christmas draws near, I’ll be more accepting of snow.  I do love a white Christmas.  The long range forecast is calling for a very normal, snowy winter for our part of the country and I won’t complain about that as long as it…

A Bright Sunday Morning in Mid Michigan

A Bright Sunday Morning in Mid Michigan

This morning is sunny but very cold.  There is a thick layer of frost covering everything and temps are in the lower 20s.  Temperatures will not be nearly as mild as Saturday but at least it will be sunny.  Yesterday was mostly cloudy with a a few breaks in the clouds from time to time.  There were also a few sprinkles when a heavier cloud cover moved over us, but there was only 0.01″ in my gauge this morning.  We…

Mild Temperatures For Our November Finale in Mid Michigan

Mild Temperatures For Our November Finale in Mid Michigan

This morning is very pleasant with temps in the mid 40s.  Although it is mostly cloudy, there are a few breaks in the cloud cover and we can see signs of color in the east with the rising sun.  Everything was wet this morning and I think that we may have had a few sprinkles overnight but there was nothing in my gauge.  Our 8:15 AM temp is 44.4°F (7°C), the humidity is 80% and winds are from the west…

Much Warmer With Sun – Mid Michigan

Much Warmer With Sun – Mid Michigan

Today looks like a beautiful day, and it is.  The only exception is the wind.  I guess it isn’t too bad if one dresses warm and I may just do that and take off for a walk.  We don’t have any precip in the forecast for the next week, so it would be a great time to get the car washed.  I may just do that when I go out tomorrow.  Today is Black Friday, the day that I stay…

Happy Thanksgiving From Mid Michigan

Happy Thanksgiving From Mid Michigan

Our Thanksgiving day should be quite uneventful in terms of weather.  We could even see a little sun later today.  This morning, however, is cloudy with a slight breeze.  Temperatures are below freezing but should warm up into the upper 30s for our high.  There are no major weather systems heading our way over the next week and that’s a good thing.  So, with that, I guess there is no more to say. Our 9:30 AM temperature is 31°F (-1°C),…

Cold Air for Our Wednesday in Mid Michigan

Cold Air for Our Wednesday in Mid Michigan

Today and Tomorrow will see below normal temps once again, then another brief warmup for Friday and Saturday.  This is the way our weather has been most of the year.  At least there is no rain in our forecast for the next five days.  We had light showers most of the day Tuesday, but there was only 0.03″ in my gauge.  We had a lovely sunrise this morning before the cloudy cover moved in. Our 8:30 AM temp is 28.6°F…

A Sunny Beginning To Our Tuesday – Mid Michigan

A Sunny Beginning To Our Tuesday – Mid Michigan

There is a slight chance for a shower or two today, but it will be far from a washout.  At least we have a little sun this morning.  Yesterday was quite nice and there was a lot of sunshine,  but strong winds made it anything but pleasant to be outdoors.  Today won’t be any different with very windy conditions expected to continue.  After today, we will have a dry period with no precip forecasted until the weekend. Our 8:45 AM…
