Once Again, Below Normal Temps for Mid Michigan

Once Again, Below Normal Temps for Mid Michigan

I really don’t mind the cool temperatures, except that I’m afraid that our September won’t be very nice.  We have one more trip up north this summer, and I do hope that it isn’t a wet one.  But what will be will be, and I guess we’ll make the best of it whatever happens.  As for today, it should be quite nice although starting out with cloudy skies.  We should see some sun later this afternoon, but highs probably won’t…

Cool and Sunny in Mid Michigan

Cool and Sunny in Mid Michigan

I wasn’t sure if I could get on WQ this morning.  There appears to be more problems going on with this site and I hope that they are resolved soon.  As Harvey continues to victimize Texas, and now Louisiana, our weather in Michigan continues to be calm but very cool.  Our high today should be near normal but another cold front will affect us tomorrow.  I don’t ever remember having such a chilly August.  Harvey doesn’t appear to be a…

A Rainy Monday For Mid Michigan

A Rainy Monday For Mid Michigan

Today will not be good for outdoor activities with rain in the forecast for much of it.  The radar isn’t showing any heavy precip, but just enough to dampen our day.  Highs will only reach the low 70s, so once again, an unseasonably cool day for us. I’ve been watching coverage of the storm in Texas and it is unbelievable.  They are expecting up to 5 feet of rain by the rime it is over, and that amount of rain…

A Little Rain Showing on Radar in Mid Michigan

A Little Rain Showing on Radar in Mid Michigan

Our morning is beginning with clouds and there is rain on the radar.  Today was supposed to be dry, and it has been here so far.  Our plans were to put a coat of waterproofing on our lawn swing today, so I’m hoping that the rain holds off at least for now.  This has been a very wet summer which has been great for the crops.  The corn is high and very healthy looking.  With September beginning late this week,…

A Sunny But Cool Morning in Mid Michigan

A Sunny But Cool Morning in Mid Michigan

We have a beautiful morning but it feels like late September.  This has been the coolest night so far this season.  There should be a gradual warm-up over the next few days, but the highs will still be below where they should be for this time of year.  There isn’t any rain in our forecast in the near future, but if Harvey heads our way, that could certainly change.  We could actually use some rain Our 9:30 AM temp is…

Michigan Weather is the Picture of Tranquillity August 25, 2017

Michigan Weather is the Picture of Tranquillity August 25, 2017

While Texas prepares for the landfall of Hurricane Harvey, our Michigan weather is lovely.  On the negative side, it will probably head our way later in the week drenching us with abundant rain.  I’ve seen it happen too many times.  Sure, we don’t get the damage that it wreaks on other states, but it does make life miserable for us in some way.  I really haven’t seen a projection of where it is expected to head after Texas, but hopefully…

Much Cooler in Mid Michigan August 24, 2017

Much Cooler in Mid Michigan August 24, 2017

This morning feels like a day in mid September.  Our 8 AM temperature was only 50° and it is only 63°F now.  I don’t think that we will see 70° today.  I love the cooler weather, but this is too cool for mid August.  My hopes are that September will be warm and dry, at least until after our last camping trip. Our 11:15 AM temperature is 62°F (16°C), the humidity is 46%, and skies are mostly cloudy.  The dew…

Sunny But Much Cooler in Mid Michigan August 23, 2017

Sunny But Much Cooler in Mid Michigan August 23, 2017

Today was quite nice although it is far from cloudless.  Temperatures are abnormally cool, but that is nothing new for this summer.  Yo-Yo temps have been the rule since the beginning of the year, and it didn’t change for our summer months.  Although there is no rain in our forecast, some of the clouds look like they could drop a new sprinkles. but no rain so far. Our 6:30 PM temp is 73°F (22°C), the humidity is 46%, and winds…

Long Awaited Solar Eclipse Is History – Mid Michigan Aug. 22, 2017

Long Awaited Solar Eclipse Is History – Mid Michigan Aug. 22, 2017

Our Monday was quite nice early, and skies were mostly clear during the eclipse.  But afterwards, it clouded up and we now have light rain this morning.  Today shouldn’t be a complete wash-out with drier conditions expected later.  I did a blog late yesterday and I’m not finding it here.  Maybe I didn’t hit “Publish” . . . . I don’t know.    So far, we have received only 0.03 inches of precip as of 8:30, but rain has been falling…

A Sunny, Warm Sunday in Mid Michigan August 20, 2017

A Sunny, Warm Sunday in Mid Michigan August 20, 2017

Today was a wonderful day with temps in the mid 80s but low humidity.  I haven’t been feeling well so didn’t do much.  In fact, I was suppose to work today but didn’t go in.  That doesn’t happen very often.  The long-awaited eclipse is tomorrow but I will be working when it happens.  I’ll try to get a chance to get outdoors to get a glimpse.  I don’t really care to look at the sun, but I find the amount…
