Wonderful Weather In Mid Michigan

Wonderful Weather In Mid Michigan

Today is one of those rare days when everything about the weather is perfect.  Temperatures are in the comfortable 70s, the humidity is low, and there is enough breeze to open the windows and really air out the house.  All my kids are home and we are celebrating my husband’s birthday which was a few days ago.  We cooked out and plan of having a campfire later on.   There is the chance of some rain later on but not until…

Clouds, Fog To Start Our Day – Mid Michigan

Clouds, Fog To Start Our Day – Mid Michigan

There was dense fog when I got up this morning with visibility less than a mile.  That has dissipated but skies remain cloudy.  We should see the sun later today with temps in the low to mid 80s.  Tomorrow is expected to be a stormy one with that weather system arriving tonight.  Local forecasters are saying that severe storms are possible.   After the tornadoes on Saturday, it makes some a bit nervous.  We have to drive to Detroit tomorrow and…

A Typical Summer Day In Mid Michigan

A Typical Summer Day In Mid Michigan

Today is perfect in terms of how a summer day should be.  Yes, it is very warm but perfect for water sports if you’re into that sort of thing.  Our morning began with cloudy skies but it has cleared up quite nicely since then.  We are still seeing smoke from the wildfires out west which make a hazy cover to the otherwise clear sky.  Winds are very light today and it’s a nice one just to go out and sit…

A Sunny Sunday After a Wet, Stormy Saturday – Northern Michigan

A Sunny Sunday After a Wet, Stormy Saturday – Northern Michigan

Today is our last day here for this trip.  It rained most of Saturday but toward evening, the sky cleared and we even saw a little sun.  Temperatures never got as warm as what was predicted and we were happy about that.  Down state, however, there were many severe storms and even tornadoes.  Macomb and Oakland counties were hit the hardest although there was wind damage reported in other parts of the state also, not to mention more flooding. Our…

A Very Wet Saturday For Northern Michigan

A Very Wet Saturday For Northern Michigan

The rain began early this morning and hasn’t stopped since.  I’m not sure how much we’ve gotten so far but I know it has to be well over an inch.  Unfortunately, this is expected to continue until late this afternoon, so I guess we’ll be stuck in our trailer most of the day.  I hate days like this when I’m camping and I really feel for those in tents.  But it is what it is and we’ll make the best…

A Cloudy, Cool Day In Northern Michigan

A Cloudy, Cool Day In Northern Michigan

Our Thursday is starting out with clouds and chilly temperatures, but it feels good.  The heat will return over the weekend with highs closer to normal once again.  We could see a little rain also.  At home, there hasn’t been any rain in over a week so they could use it.  With the weekend coming, the campground will get quite busy with the weekenders coming and the added activity is always welcome. Our 10:45 AM temperature is 64F (18C), the…

A Cloudy But Warm Tuesday In Northern Michigan

A Cloudy But Warm Tuesday In Northern Michigan

Our morning is very warm and humid, typical for a July day in Michigan.  Yesterday was sunny but the smoke from the Canadian wildfires was very evident in our skies and even looking at the horizon.  As we traveled north, we could see differences in the density of the smoke in many areas.  But regardless, we never saw blue sky yesterday in spite of the sun shining all day.  Today is expected to be cloudy most of the day so…

Hazy Sun And Warm Temps Today In Mid Michigan

Hazy Sun And Warm Temps Today In Mid Michigan

Today is sunny but our skies look rather grey from the smoke from the western wildfires.  Temperatures are much warmer than what we have had and that’s good for those who like hot weather.  We are heading back to the north country tomorrow and the extended forecast looks pretty good for us.  There is a slight chance of rain a few days but no total washouts expected.  Highs are expected in the 70s which is perfect. Our 2:30 PM temperature…

Rain Expected But Nothing Yet – Mid Michigan

Rain Expected But Nothing Yet – Mid Michigan

Yesterday was supposed to be rainy and it wasn’t.  Not one drop fell here.  Today is also supposed to be wet but nothing so far.  Radar is showing us right on the northern edge of the rain and I hope we stay there.  As I have been saying, we don’t need anymore.  Today is comfortably cool with highs only expected in the low 70s.  That’s perfect as far as I’m concerned.  We will be heading back to the campground on…

Possible Storms Today In Mid Michigan

Possible Storms Today In Mid Michigan

Our skies look like rain but radar is showing most of it to be passing to our west and north.   I did have a few drops on my windshield earlier when coming home from Corunna, but nothing here at home.  All the storms from last night fell apart before reaching my area and I’m happy about that.  We have had way too much rain and the garden is showing it.  My zucchini plants are turning yellow.  The forecast for next…
