Yesterday was extremely hot here in Michigan with highs in the upper 90s. Much too warm for me. There was a huge fire in downtown Holly which destroyed about 4 buildings that I can see. Yesterday’s heat broke many records and ushered in severe weather in our upper peninsula. It wasn’t anything though compared to what Wisconsin had. Tornadoes and severe thunderstorms moved across Wisconsin most of the afternoon, but lost much of it’s strength when crossing Lake Michigan. Record heat is affecting us today with highs expected in the mid 90s. Thunderstorms are beginning to develop over western Wisconsin and are expected to move into northern Michigan later. Tornadoes are also a possibility. Our weather here is expected to remain calm but like an oven.
