Thunderstorms And Tornadoes . . . . .

Thunderstorms And Tornadoes . . . . .

After warning us all day yesterday that we had a marginal chance for severe weather, but a very slight chance for tornadoes, guess what???  Several tornadoes hit the state.  The closest to us was Grand Blanc, which is just south of Flint.  It’s about 25 miles from us.  Thankfully, I have heard of no injuries or deaths, but quite a bit of property damage.  We did have a good, summer-type thunderstorm, but nothing even close to severe.  We were lucky. …

Record Breaking High Temps Today . . . .

Record Breaking High Temps Today . . . .

Today looks and feels like a day in late April.  Unfortunately, it may bring some severe weather later this evening and tonight.  The last time we had weather this warm, this early in the season, was when we had the tornado back in 2019.  I hope we don’t see a repeat of that tonight.  It’s still early and our temps are already in the low 70s.  I think that our high may be more than what is predicted.  Regardless, it’s…

Very Warm, Possible Storms . . . .

Very Warm, Possible Storms . . . .

We have near record temperatures today and tomorrow, but another cold front will move in, giving us the possibility of strong thunderstorms tonight and early tomorrow.  I’ve noticed many of the farmers are already getting their fields fit for planting, and this has been a good week for it with no rain.  It is unusual, however, for February.  Our temperatures will drop significantly after the storms, but another warm-up will come for the weekend.  I think I have only worn…

Sunny And A Little Warmer . . . .

Sunny And A Little Warmer . . . .

Today is starting with sun, but it isn’t expected to last.  We will see highs near 50F and that’s a relief from yesterday.  There is no rain in our forecast until late Tuesday, and we could see a record high temp on that day.  Unfortunately, we could also see severe weather  That’s never a good thing but that’s what happens when we get this warm, this early. Our 10:45 AM temperature is 38°F (3°C), the humidity is 62%, and skies…

Sunny But Cold . . . . .

Sunny But Cold . . . . .

It looks like a very pretty day, but it is too cold for my liking.  Temps aren’t even expected to reach the freezing mark, but at least the sun gives the illusion of being warmer.  This cold will be short-lived with highs in the 50s and possible 60s expected for next week.  These few warm days really spoil us, and it’s difficult to remember that it is still February.  We aren’t even getting any rain which is unusual for winter…

Sunny But Chilly . . .

Sunny But Chilly . . .

Our warm weather is leaving us for a few days but expected to return soon.  This winter has been weird weather-wise but I’m not complaining.  It’s been very unfortunate for those who love winter sports.  Even our  upper peninsula hardly has any snow which is really strange for February.  Temperatures will be closer to where they should be through the weekend, then back into the 50s and even 60s early next week.  What can I say??? Our 10:30 AM temperature…

Hazy Sunshine . . . . .

Hazy Sunshine . . . . .

We have had mostly cloudy skies this morning, but now we have partly cloudy skies and haze.  After a little research, I discovered that the haze is from wildfires in Oklahoma.  We had a record temp of 62°F yesterday.  It actually tied the record from back in 1930.  It has been a strange winter and I’m hoping that we won’t pay for it in April when the flowers, bushes, and trees start coming out of dormancy.  That’s often what happens….

A Fine Spring-Like Day . . . . .

A Fine Spring-Like Day . . . . .

It really feels like spring out there today.  It is already much warmer than what was predicted, and we could set a new record today.  The morning was cloudy, but now there are quite a few breaks in the clouds and we have a bit of sunshine.  Our rain chances for today have fallen significantly so it’s a great day to get outdoors and do something. Our 2:15 PM temperature is 59°F (15°C), the humidity is 46%, and skies are…

Our Warmer Weather Has Arrived . …

Our Warmer Weather Has Arrived . …

Temperatures will reach the upper 40s today and some areas could reach 50°F.  There are still little patches of snow hanging around and I expect that to be gone by tonight.  This weather is expected to last for another few days yet, then an Alberta clipper will pay us a visit, and possibly some snow.  But we can enjoy this while it lasts. Our 2:15 PM temperature is 47°F (8°C), the humidity is 49%, and winds are from the…

Sunny And Warmer . . . . .

Sunny And Warmer . . . . .

Today has been quite pleasant with plenty of sun, mild breezes, and temperatures in the 40s.  This will be a warmer than average week although we could see some rain by the weekend.  We only have a few patches of snow left and none in the forecast at this time. Our 5 PM temperature is 40°F (4°C), the humidity is 54%, and the dew point is 22°F (-6°C).  The pressure is 30.07 in (1018.3 mb) and falling.  Yesterday’s high was…
