It seems like we are never going to warm up this year. Temperatures can’t even make it to the predicted highs. We were suppose to reach 70° yesterday and my thermometer only read 63° as the warmest. The weather this month has been very unseasonable for us. Usually May brings warm temps and sunny skies. This year, it has seemed more like April. We have had way too much rain and very few days where the high has reached the average levels. Our Monday is beginning with plenty of sun, light breezes and warm temperatures. It couldn’t be any nicer. My kids were all home for the weekend and it was my younger son’s birthday, so we were busy all weekend. I don’t really feel like doing anything today. Yesterday was mostly dry but we did have a moderate shower in the afternoon. Temps reached the upper 70s and the humidity made it feel like July. Today is cooler with less humidity and there is another chance for more rain which we certainly don’t need. The central sections of the state have flooding but we have been lucky. This morning is quite windy and more storms are in our forecast for this afternoon. It is already very warm and muggy, and it feels like a storm. Temps rapidly reached the upper 70s and I’m thinking that it will get warmer that the predicted high. We had 0.71″ in the rain gauge this morning. 0.32″ was from yesterday morning and the rest was from overnight thunderstorms. A line of thunderstorms moved across the state early this morning. Between yesterday morning’s showers and the storms today, we received 0.27″ total rain over the past 24 hours. We have been lucky that the storms affecting the mid portions of the country have diminished significantly before reaching our area. Once again, Missouri is the victim of Mother Nature’s wrath causing severe damage to that state. This year’s spring weather has been very damaging to this country. I hope it…
Yesterday was a pretty okay day with sun most of the day. There were periods of cloudiness but it was dry. Temps only made it into the low 60s but breezes were light so it wasn’t too bad.
