A Pleasant Friday For Us. . . . .

A Pleasant Friday For Us. . . . .

After a rainfall of over an inch on Thursday, we had clearing by afternoon, although there was a lot of smoke in the air.  The air quality alert is still in effect until midnight tonight.  Our skies are clear but hazy.  Temperatures will be in the upper 70s today, so it should be a nice day. Our 1 PM temperature is 75°F, the humidity is 45%, and winds are from the NE at 2-7 mph.  The pressure is 29.94 in…

Air Quality Alert . . . .

Air Quality Alert . . . .

Once again, we are dealing with smoke sent to us compliments of Canada.  An air quality alert has been issued for those with breathing problems, and even those who don’t shouldn’t be outdoors too much.  Yesterday brought us some rain and we got a little over an inch here.  Now the sky has cleared and temperatures are making their way up to the mid 70s.  Yesterday was too warm for my liking but the rest of the week should be…

Rain On The Way . . . .

Rain On The Way . . . .

This morning is very windy with rain approaching from the southwest.  We could see some heavy storms later, but I think it is just light showers almost upon us now.  Yesterday was very warm with highs reaching the upper  80s.  There was a moderate breeze which kept things comfortable.  Even lows overnight remained in the mid 70s. Our 12 noon temperature is 77°F, the humidity is 69% and skies are cloudy.  Winds are from the SW at 4-16 mph, and…

Another Hazy Day . . . .

Another Hazy Day . . . .

We have almost clear skies with just a few scattered clouds, but one wouldn’t know it.  Our sky is grey with smoke from the Canadian wildfires, even though the wind isn’t coming directly from that direction.  Our temperature is very warm, and it would be very uncomfortable if not for the wind.  Storms are moving in from the west  and could reach us by tomorrow morning.  Until then, it will remain hot and dry. Our 4:45 PM temperature is 86°F,…

Summer Weather Is Finally Here . . . .

Summer Weather Is Finally Here . . . .

Today is the beginning of some summer-like weather.  High temperatures will finally reach the average and even higher.  Of course, with that comes a chance of severe weather on Wednesday, but we’ll enjoy the week anyway. Our 10:30 AM temperature is 65°F, clear skies, the humidity is 39%, and winds are from the south at 2-7 mph.  The pressure is 29.96 in and steady.  Visibility is 10 miles and the dew point is 40°F.  Yesterday’s high was 70°F and the…

Hazy Skies From Canadian Wildfired . . . . .

Hazy Skies From Canadian Wildfired . . . . .

My picture shows last night’s sunset through the smoke in the air.  With the wind shift today, it shouldn’t be as noticeable.  The northern lights are supposed to be visible tonight in most of the northern states.  Hopefully, it will be clear enough to see them, and they don’t appear too late.  That’s usually what happens,  The national weather map is showing a mostly tranquil day with the exception of a small area in Texas.  As for us, it Could…
