Clouds Building This Afternoon . . .

Clouds Building This Afternoon . . .

What began as a clear, sunny day has now become mostly cloudy.  There is the chance for rain this afternoon but our big issue are these hot temperatures.  I’m now hearing that the next few weeks will be much cooler and I’m fine with that.  In fact, one local meteorologist said that the end of this month will feel more like fall. Our 1:30 PM temperature is 88°F, the humidity is 59%, and winds are from the south at 1-6…

The Heat Is Back . . . .

The Heat Is Back . . . .

Once again, we have expected temperatures to reach near 90 degrees this afternoon.  We didn’t have any rain yesterday, and none is expected until tomorrow.  But that seems to be a given whenever the temperatures get this hot.  Next week is supposed to be cooler, thank heavens. Our 2:45 PM temperature is 85°F, the humidity is 52%, and skies are partly cloudy.  Winds re from the SE but calm at this time.  The pressure is 30.11 and rising.  The dew…

Finally, A Nice Day . . . .

Finally, A Nice Day . . . .

After the rain ended, yesterday brought some clear skies in the afternoon.  Temperatures weren’t too bad either.  Today is expected to be pleasant before more steamy weather comes in the next few days.  At least we’re getting a little break. Our 1 PM temperature is 79°F, the humidity is 59%, and winds are from the ENE at 2-4 mph.  The pressure is 30.05 in and rising, and the dew point is 63°F.  Visibility is  19 miles.  Yesterday’s high was 82°F…

Lotsa Rain Yesterday . . . .

Lotsa Rain Yesterday . . . .

Yesterday was one of those days when you heard thunder almost all day.  At first the storms were all to our north, but then we got our share beginning in the early afternoon.  We received over two inches of rain by the time it was over.  It did bring some relief from the heat, and it is still quite cool so far today.  It is suppose to clear up later. Our 1 PM temperature is 75°F, the humidity is 79%…

Thunderstorms On The Menu . . . .

Thunderstorms On The Menu . . . .

We have another very hot day and we can expect some storms to develop a little later.  Clouds are already becoming abundant and there is activity in the northern portions of our state.  Maybe a little rain would cool it off some.  My husband was complaining that there is so much work to be done outdoors, and it’s just too hot to do it. Our 1:45 PM temperature is 88°F, the humidity is 53%, and skies are mostly cloudy.  Winds…

The Dog Days Of Summer . . . .

The Dog Days Of Summer . . . .

Once again, the heat has returned.  This has really  been a hot summer for us, too hot for me.  At least we don’t have as much smoke today, but still not pleasant to be outdoors, unless you are partaking in something near the water.  Even the sun doesn’t feel very friendly and just adds to the heat.  There is no real cool down coming anytime soon. Our 11:45 AM temperature is 86°F, the humidity is 63%, and winds are from…

Mostly Clear . . . .

Mostly Clear . . . .

Yesterday afternoon, we had some thunderstorms forming right over us, small cells which developed into big ones.  We received just under half and inch of rain.  Today has been clear but now clouds are moving in and we again have the chance for storms developing.  We were noticing how green everything is and that is unusual for the month of August.  It looks more like June.  I’m hoping that the fall season will be drier. Our 1:30 PM temperature is…

Clear And Sunny . . . . .

Clear And Sunny . . . . .

With our winds switching to the southeast today, the smoke doesn’t seem nearly as bad.  The sky actually looks blue for a change.  We had a few sprinkles of rain yesterday, and we could see some thunderstorms this afternoon, but most will be the hit-and-miss variety.  I hope we are in the miss area.  We don’t need any more rain for awhile. Our 12:30 PM temperature is 82°F, the humidity is 67%, and winds are from the ESE at 0-3…

Still Dealing With Smoke . . . . .

Still Dealing With Smoke . . . . .

There has been no letup in the smoke coming down from Canada.  Between that and all of this hot weather, summer of 2025 has not been pleasant.  I think that the smoke is worse today than the past two days.  There is no rain in our forecast and that will give us a reprieve from lawn mowing.  So guess we’ll deal with what we have. Our 2 PM temperature is 81°F, the humidity is 62% and skies are grey from…

Another Smokey Day . . . .

Another Smokey Day . . . .

Once again we are advised not to spend much time outdoors due to the wildfire smoke from Canada.  I checked out a map yesterday, showing all current wildfires, and it looks like half of Manitoba is on fire.  My picture shows the Mackinaw Bridge yesterday through the smoke.  As for us, it is still quite hazy and our clear sky looks more grey than blue.   We have another round of hot, sticky weather for the week ahead, so this makes…
