I have lived in Michigan all of my life and became very interested in the weather after the 1953 Flint tornado. This was one of the few EF5 tornadoes in our state's history (since records have been kept). Although we are not strangers to severe storms in Michigan, EF5 tornadoes are very rare. I live in an area where we rarely get a good thunderstorm, in fact, we haven't had one all summer. When I lived down by Detroit, they were frequent during the spring and summer months. I love experiencing the four seasons here in Michigan and I wouldn't live anywhere else.
Sunny And Very Warm . . . .

Sunny And Very Warm . . . .

Our summer weather continues and will stay here until the weekend.  We still aren’t certain about the weekend yet, but there is a chance of rain mentioned for Sunday night and into the early half of next week.  We’re enjoying what we now have and are hoping that it continues a while longer. Our 2:15 PM temperature is 79°F, the humidity is 40% and winds are from the NNE at 2-4 mph and the pressure is 30.18 in and falling….

More Sun Today . . .

Most of us are loving this weather.  There really isn’t much more to say.  It will remain dry until the weekend, then we have a slight chance of some rain.  Temperatures are expected to remain above average, so plenty of nice weather ahead. Our 2:30 PM temperature is 80°F, the humidity is 40%, and skies are clear except for a few wispy cirrus clouds.  Winds are from the ENE at 4-7 mph.  The pressure is 30.31 in and falling.  The…

Another Perfect Autumn Day . . .

Another Perfect Autumn Day . . .

Except for a little smoke in the air, today is about as perfect as one can get.  I do wish, however, that there was more breeze.  There isn’t much air circulation even with the windows open.  The sky is a mix of sun and clouds but not enough to hamper the sun.  The air is dry so even highs in the 80s feels comfortable. Our 4 PM temperature is 82°F, the humidity is 42%, and skies are partly cloudy.  Winds…

Another Beautiful Day . . . .

Another Beautiful Day . . . .

We continue to have great weather.  Too bad we can’t have this the rest of the year.  All the long range forecasts are predicting a very snowy winter for us, so we’ll have to wait and see on that one.  It seems like they tell us that every year, then we hardly get any.  With as crazy as our weather has been this year, nothing would surprise me. Our 2:45 PM temperature is 81°F, the humidity is 43%, and skies…

Another Ideal Day . . . .

Another Ideal Day . . . .

Our morning began with cloudy skies and a few raindrops, but now skies have cleared with warm, comfortable temperatures.  This weather is nicer than what we’ve had most of the summer.  This is why autumn is my favorite season.  We could see temps reaching into the upper 80s next week, so a little more summer for us. Our 1:45 PM temperature is 76°F, the humidity is 44%, and skies are clear.  Winds are mostly calm.  The pressure is 30.25 in…

Another Nice Fall Day . . .

Another Nice Fall Day . . .

The past few nights have been quite chilly, and I’m noticing that some leaves are beginning to change.  We don’t have nearly the color that we usually have by this time is September, but that’s because it has been so warm.  Next week will once again be way above normal with some upper 80s expected.  This can last right into early November as far as I’m concerned. Our 4 PM temperature is 79°F, the humidity is 40%, and winds are…

Sunny And Comfortable . . . .

Sunny And Comfortable . . . .

Today is about as perfect as one could ask for.  There is plenty of sun and temperatures are just right.  This is what I love about autumn in Michigan. Our 3:15 temperature is 78°F, the humidity is 42%, and winds are from the east at 2-5 mph.  Skies are partly cloudy and the pressure is 30.39 in and steady.  The dew point is 51°F and visibility is 11 miles.  Yesterday’s high was 79°F and the overnight low was 49°F.  Average…

A Dry Week Ahead . . . .

A Dry Week Ahead . . . .

This week looks like it will be a return of summer.  Everyday will be a little warmer and there is no rain in our forecast at this time.  Our morning has clear skies but lows were in the 30s overnight.  It won’t be long before we have our first frost I am sure. Our 11 AM temperature is 57°F, the humidity is 66F and winds are 0-2 mph from the east.  The pressure is 30.37 in and rising.  The dew…

Some Sun, Some Clouds . . . .

Some Sun, Some Clouds . . . .

Today is much like the last two.  There are a lot of clouds but quite a bit of sun as well.  Temperatures are still very cool, much below where they should be, and it will still be a bit breezy.  There is no rain in the forecast in the near future and I’m okay with that.  There is the mention of frost but not for us just yet.  I don’t think it will be long though. Our 1:15 PM temperature…

Windy And Chilly . . . .

Windy And Chilly . . . .

We have intermittent sun and a lot of wind.  So far, the winds aren’t as strong as predicted and that’s a good thing.  There are quite a few large, fluffy clouds but no rain, and none is expected today. Our 2:15 PM temperature is 66°F, the humidity is 52%, and skies are mostly cloudy.  Winds are from the WSW at 5-19 mph, and the pressure is 29.95 in and rising.  The dew point is 45°F and visibility is 10 miles. …
