We have clear skies, light breezes, and very warm temperatures. It’s warm enough to have the AC back on but it got a rest the past three days. I had my window open last night and actually got cold. The weather is certainly different from what was originally predicted. We have sprinkles this morning and cloudy skies. This Labor Day Weekend has been pretty nice weather-wise. Yesterday was hot with highs reaching into the upper 80s. Thunderstorms developed late in the day, and just seemed to hang around without much movement. Some areas got 2+ inches of rain but we didn’t get even a drop. The storms that rolled through southern Michigan yesterday certainly left their mark. Fortunately, my area was spared from much of the damage, but other areas, including Detroit weren’t as lucky. My daughter lives in Wixom and she is still without power. The storms moved fast and caused destruction from around Midland south. The Detroit area appears to have gotten the worst of it. We were promised rain . . . . a lot of rain yesterday, and I think everyone got it but us. There was only 0.06″ in my gauge this morning while other stations were reporting anywhere from half an inch to almost two inches. The weather service is saying that we can try again later today.
