Summer Has Returned to Mid Michigan

It seem good to be wearing short pants and short sleeved shirts once again . . . . . .and having the windows open.  This is expected to continue all of this week and I sure hope into next.  We are leaving for northern Michigan a week from today and I don’t want cold and rainy weather.  I guess we’ll just put up with what we get.  This morning was very foggy with almost zero visibility.  I was so happy that I didn’t have to drive in it.

The day started out with clouds, a very heavy dew, and of course, the fog.  Temps were quite mild with lows not as chilly as in the past week.  We are seeing more color every day.  It seemed to have happened suddenly with the few cool days that we had.  Even my Crimson King maple is dropping it’s leaves already.  We are expected to have a normal winter this year and I’m hoping that we get enough cold air to kill the fleas, which are much too plentiful this summer.  I’m thinking it is because of the last two mild winters that we had.

Our 1:45 PM temp is 74°F (23°C), the humidity is 69%, and skies are partly cloudy to mostly clear.  Winds are from the west at 3 mph, and the pressure is 29.92 in (1012.9 mb) and rising.  The dew point is 61°F (16°C) and visibility is 10 miles.  Yesterday’s high was 79°F (26°C) and the overnight low as 51°F (11°C).  Averages for this date are 75°F / 52°F.
