Partly Cloudy With Possible Rain Ahead . . . .

Partly Cloudy With Possible Rain Ahead . . . .

Over the past two days, we finally got some much needed rain.  Our overall weather has been hot and humid and this is typical for August in Michigan.  We could see some strong storms over the weekend and early next week, but that’s always a possibility when the weather is hot and humid. Our 12 noon temperature is 79°F, the humidity is 70%, and skies are partly cloudy.  Winds are from the SW at 2-7 mph, and the pressure is…

More Rain On The Way . . . .

More Rain On The Way . . . .

Yesterday, the rain moved in during the early afternoon, then became heavier as the day wore on.  The heaviest came during the early evening up until about 9 PM.  We received just under two inches of rain.  So far today, it has been dry but it looks like we will get a little more.  Temperatures are much cooler and that always makes me happy. Our 1:30 PM temperature is 75°F, the humidity is 83%, and skies are overcast.  Winds are…

Severe Weather In Our Forecast . . . .

Severe Weather In Our Forecast . . . .

We could be in store for some pretty heavy weather tonight and tomorrow.  Michigan Storm Chasers are giving us a 30-40% chance for severe weather tomorrow.  They will be giving updates throughout today with the latest information.  Right now we have sun and very warm temperatures.  Highs could reach near 90°F once again, but the storms should cool it down. Our 1 PM temperature is 83°F, the humidity is 51%, and winds are from the west at 0-5 mph, and…

A Little Warmer . . . . .

A Little Warmer . . . . .

The past two days have been pleasantly comfortable with temperatures barely rising to 80°F.  Today will reach the mid 80s but the humidity won’t be too bad.  We are being warned that the beginning of next week could be stormy, but no rain expected until then.  We’ve been lucky so far when it comes to severe weather. Our 3:15 PM temperature is 82°F, the humidity is 41%, and skies are partly cloudy.  Winds are from the SW at 4-11 mph,…

Cool And Pleasant . . . .

Cool And Pleasant . . . .

This cooler weather really seems good to me.  I could deal with this this the rest of summer.  We had a few drops of rain on Tuesday that barely measured in my gauge.  Now there is no rain in the forecast until this weekend.  It is getting quite dry. Our 12:45 PM temperature is 74°F, the humidity is 37%, and winds are from the WNW at 2-5 mph.  The pressure is 30.43 in and steady and the dew point is…

Some Relief From The Smoke . . . . .

Some Relief From The Smoke . . . . .

We were expecting thunderstorms overnight, but all we got was a few drops of rain.  Today is partly sunny and breezy.  Temperatures are right where they should be for this time of year.  Thankfully the smoke is gone but it has been replaced with high humidity.  At least it’s safe to go outdoors again. Our 1 PM temperature is 82°F, the humidity is 52%, and winds are from the west at 5-11 mph.  The pressure is 29.79 in and falling. …

Cooler Temps But Still Smokey . . . .

Cooler Temps But Still Smokey . . . .

We had a brief, heavy rainstorm yesterday afternoon that dropped 0.39″ in my gauge.  It also brought cooler temperatures and less smoke for awhile.  We are still  under an air quality alert but smoke is not nearly as noticeable as it has been.  These cooler temps are a relief after what we have had and I hope they last a while. Our 1:15 PM temperature is 74°F, the humidity is 45% and the pressure is 30.22 in and steady.  The…

Dangerous Air Quality Alert . . . .

Dangerous Air Quality Alert . . . .

We thought it was bad yesterday, but the smoke in the air seems even worse today.  Many outdoor events are being cancelled and this situation is really getting everyone upset.  Canada has to do something about these fires.  Summertime is for outdoor living and this sure hampers any camping plans. Our 3 PM temperature is 87°F, the humidity is 44%, and winds are from the SSE at 4-6 mph.  The pressure is 29.89 in and falling and the dew point…
