Hellish Temperatures Gripping Michigan and Most of the Nation
What can be said about this weather except we complained back in April that we didn’t think that summer would ever come. Now it’s too hot. A heat advisory is in effect for most of the upcoming week, and many places will see highs in the triple digits today. For us, the heat index will be that high but not the actual temperature. To make it worse, the humidity and dew points will also be at very uncomfortable levels. This heat dome is affecting all of the eastern U.S. with no relief expected until next week.
Our 9:30 AM temperature is 84°F (29°C), the humidity is 72%, and winds are from the SW. The dew point is 74°F (23°C) and skies are partly cloudy. The pressure is 29.99 in and steady. The heat index is 91°F (33°C) and an excessive heat warning is in effect until midnight. Sunrise was at 6:02 AM and sunset will be at 9:08 PM. Yesterday’s high was 91°F (32°C) and the overnight low was 77°F (25°C). The record high for June 29 is 99°F (37°C) set in 1934 and the record low is 42°F (6°C) set in 1988.
