Accumulating Snow A Possibility This Weekend – Mid Michigan

We could see a couple inches of snowfall this weekend.  Some areas of the U.P.  already have 5-6 inches on the ground, and although we aren’t expecting that much here, our world could be very white Saturday and Sunday.  What’s worse is that highs are not expected to rise out of the 30s anytime soon.  This is much too early for this type of weather.  NOAA gave us a long term forecast of a milder winter, but it sure isn’t looking that way now.  Local forecasters said that today should be partly sunny but I’m not seeing any sign of that either.  I still need to get the rest of my outdoor furniture put away.

Our 8:30 AM temperature is 36°F (2°C), the humidity is 70%, and winds are from the west at 6 mph.  The wind chill is 33°F (1°C).  The pressure is 30.31 in (1026.4 mb) and rising.  The dew point is 29°F (-2°C) and visibility is 10 miles.  Skies are cloudy.  Yesterday’s  high was 44°F (7°C) and the overnight low was 36°F (2°C).  Averages for this date are 50°F / 36°F.  The record high for Nov. 8 is 64°F (18°C) set in 1975, and the record low is 12°F (-11°C) set in  1991.
