It Certainly Looks And Feels Like Winter in Mid Michigan

We received about 1.5 inches of snow total yesterday but by mid day, it was gone.  Another quarter inch fell overnight and that is sticking so far.  On the positive side, it brightens up the landscape and it doesn’t seem so dark and dreary.  We are in the midst of a deep freeze, with highs only expected in the 30s, which is much below where it should be for this date.  Looking ahead at the 10 day forecast, I don’t see much improvement or any warmups anytime soon.

Right now (9:45 AM), our temperature is 31°F (-1°C), the humidity is 81%, and skies are cloudy.  Winds are from the west at 18 mph, gusting to 24 mph.  Skies are cloudy.  The pressure is 30.09 in (1019.0 mb) and rising.  The wind chill is 21°F (-6°C).  Yesterday’s high was 37°F (3°C) and the overnight low was 24°F (-4°C).  Normals for this date are 49°F / 35°F.  The record high for this date is 73°F (23°C) set in 1999, and the record low is 17°F (-8°C) set in 2003.
