A Lovely Spring Day Before Winter Returns Once Again – Mid Michigan

A Lovely Spring Day Before Winter Returns Once Again – Mid Michigan

What is with all of this cold weather this April?  It just can’t seem to warm up and stay warm this year.  Now they are telling us that we have another bout of very chilly weather with snow coming over the next few day.  It’s almost May and we still have snow in the forecast.  As if dealing with this virus isn’t bad enough, then we have to put up with snow this late in the season.  At least today…

Finally, Some Normal Weather For Mid Michigan

Finally, Some Normal Weather For Mid Michigan

After a day of intermittent snow showers and temps which were 10 degrees below normal, we finally have some sun and average temperatures.  What’s even better is that the extended forecast is calling for more of the same.  None of the snow accumulated and melted on contact, but this time of the year, who wants to see any snow? Our 10:30 AM temp is 48°F (9°C), the humidity is 65%, and winds are from the SW at 3-9 mph.  The…

Light Snow For Our Friday Morning – Mid Michigan

Light Snow For Our Friday Morning – Mid Michigan

I wasn’t happy to see snow falling this morning but hopefully, this will be the end of it for the season.  We could get up to an inch but for now, most seems to be melting on contact.  Highs today will be about 20 degrees below normal but the weekend in looking quite nice. Our 10:30 AM temperature is 33°F (1°C), the humidity is 90%, and skies are overcast with light snow.  The pressure is 29.99 in (1015.6 mb) and…

Decreased Winds But Still Unseasonably Chilly In Mid Michigan

Decreased Winds But Still Unseasonably Chilly In Mid Michigan

Our morning is seeing a mix of sun, clouds and light snow showers.  At least the winds have diminished a bit.  This weather is hard to take after the past few weeks, but this is typical for spring in Michigan.  There is no warmup expected until this weekend. Our 10:30 AM temperature is 35°F (2°C), the humidity is 64%, and winds are variable at 5-10 mph.  Skies are mostly cloudy with a little sun trying to shine through.  The pressure…

Sunny But Blustery – Mid Michigan

Sunny But Blustery – Mid Michigan

Yesterday’s winds didn’t seem that bad, at least not as strong as what was predicted.  The highest gust showing on my weather station was 24 mph.  I heard that some lost power so I think that the wind was worse in other areas of the state.  The upper peninsula is buried with a foot of new snow in the many areas.  I love northern Michigan but wouldn’t want to deal with their winter weather.  We also have snow in our…

Wind Advisory For Mid Michigan This Monday

Wind Advisory For Mid Michigan This Monday

After a pleasant Easter Sunday, today will begin a period of much cooler weather.  We are under a wind advisory until 8 PM and hopefully, we won’t have too much wind damage.  They are predicting gusts in excess of 50 mph.  Yesterday made it up to 70° according to my weather station, but some weather sites are saying that highs were only in the upper 60s.  I was outdoors without a coat, so I’m pretty certain that my station was…

A Pleasant Easter Sunday Morning In Mid Michigan

A Pleasant Easter Sunday Morning In Mid Michigan

This morning is very nice although I hate to think of what’s coming tomorrow.  We are under a Strong Wind Advisory with gusts up to 50 mph expected for our Monday.   Regardless, today is looking quite nice although it could be wet later on.   We have light cloudiness right now and warm temperatures.  The sun is trying to make it’s way through the clouds and winds are quite light.  It’s much nicer than what was predicted a few days ago. …

From Pleasantly Warm To Downright Cold – Mid Michigan

From Pleasantly Warm To Downright Cold – Mid Michigan

Wednesday was wonderful with partly cloudy skies and temps in the low 70s.  Then yesterday happened.  In the late afternoon, rain moved in.  It didn’t take long for ice pellets to start falling.  Then it changed to all snow creating a mess.  Today is cloudy, cold, and windy.  This is certainly not the makings for a nice Easter weekend.  I have to admit that the forecast doesn’t look as bad as what was originally predicted.  At least tomorrow is looking…

Yesterday was very nice with light winds and highs reaching the low 70s once again.  The day began with sun, then clouds began moving in by late afternoon.  The rain started about 8 PM and continued into the overnight.  There was 0.23″ in my gauge this morning.  This morning is very bright and temperatures have cooled off quite a bit.  Highs today will struggle to reach 50°. Our 9:30 AM temperature is 47°F (8°C), the humidity is 64%, and winds…

Thunderstorms For Our Tuesday Night – Mid Michigan

Thunderstorms For Our Tuesday Night – Mid Michigan

Although we received very little rain, Mother Nature put on quite a light show for us last night.  Most of the storms missed us and we only got 0.06″ of rain here, but many areas received well over an inch.   I haven’t heard about too much wind damage, but hail seemed to be the issue.  Golf ball size hail was not uncommon.  Yesterday was a gorgeous day with temperatures rising into the lower 70s and almost no wind.  I even…
