Another Hot One For Mid Michigan
Yesterday’s heat broke many records and ushered in severe weather in our upper peninsula. It wasn’t anything though compared to what Wisconsin had. Tornadoes and severe thunderstorms moved across Wisconsin most of the afternoon, but lost much of it’s strength when crossing Lake Michigan. The western portions of the state saw strong storms which did cause some damage and power outages. Here in mid Michigan, we just had some light rain and a little thunder and lightning. There was only 0.07″ in my gauge this morning. Temperatures were the big story. Our low last night was only 71°F. Today isn’t quite as hot but still much too warm for my liking. We should start seeing some cooler weather for the weekend before our next blast of hot air next week . . . . .and it isn’t even summer yet.
Our 3:15 PM temperature is 88°F, the humidity is 34%, and skies are clear. Winds are from the SW at 7-11 mph. The UV index is moderate at 5, and the heat index is 90°F. The pressure is 29.90 in and falling, and the dew point is 52°F. Visibility is 14 miles. Yesterday’s high was 94°F, and the over night low was 71°F. Average temps for this date are 76°F / 56°F. Sunrise was at 5:56 AM and sunset will be at 9:17 PM.
