A Very Cold Morning In Mid Michigan

A Very Cold Morning In Mid Michigan

We had our first hard freeze last night and some areas of the state reported snow flurries.  If we had gotten any precipitation overnight, I’m sure it also would have been snow.  My roses and mums survived and I haven’t looked at my hanging plants yet.  I set them right next to the house so I think they should be okay.  Looking ahead, I’m seeing more 70 degree days next week, but rain is also expected.  We are losing more…

Much Colder In Mid Michigan

Much Colder In Mid Michigan

The cold front moved through late yesterday, bringing with it some light showers.  There was 0.04″ in my rain gauge this morning and temps were in the upper 30s.  Highs today won’t warm up much more than the low 50s so that’s quite a difference from what we have had.  The sun is trying to make an appearance so that should make it feel warmer. Our 10:45 AM temp is 42°F, the humidity is 77%, and skies are partly cloudy. …

Our Last Warm Day – Mid Michigan

Our Last Warm Day – Mid Michigan

After a run of great weather, it will now be coming to an end.  It is doubtful that we will see temperatures in the 70s again this year, but in Michigan, one never knows.  Our sky has been mostly cloudy since this morning, and there is a chance of rain in the forecast.  Radar is showing  a line of showers moving our way from the northwest.  It feels a little chilly outdoors because of the wind, but highs are expected…

Enjoying The End Of Our Warm Weather – Mid Michigan

Enjoying The End Of Our Warm Weather – Mid Michigan

Our day began with clear skies and sun.  Now clouds have moved in but temperatures will be well above average.  Today and tomorrow will probably be the end of warm days as a strong cold front will be knocking on our door.  We certainly can’t complain since our early autumn weather has been wonderful.  I’m not even seeing any significant rain anytime soon in our forecast. Our 1 PM temperature is 68°F, the humidity is 37%, and skies are cloudy. …

Another Perfect Day In Mid Michigan

Another Perfect Day In Mid Michigan

We have yet another beautiful October day with temps in the low 70s, clear skies, and a light breeze.  It just couldn’t be any nicer.  There is no mention of rain until Thursday, and then just a chance.  We have had frost the past two nights but none of my remaining plants seem to be affected.  We aren’t expecting any more low temps in the 30s until possibly Friday. Our 4:30 PM temp is 73°F, the humidity is 16%, and…

Frost On The Pumpkin This Morning – Mid Michigan

Frost On The Pumpkin This Morning – Mid Michigan

Temperatures fell into the low 30s overnight, and everything was covered in frost this morning.  I moved my hanging plants close to the house and they seem to have survived.  We were under a frost advisory until 9:00 this morning.  Now our temperatures have recovered nicely and highs should reach the mid 60s this afternoon.  It looks like it will be a very nice day. Our 11:45 AM temperature is 60F, the humidity is 57% and the dew point is…

Sunny And Breezy In Mid Michigan

Sunny And Breezy In Mid Michigan

Today is sunny but cooler than yesterday.  We also have a fairly strong breeze which keeps it feeling uncomfortably chilly if you aren’t wearing a jacket.  This weather is expected to continue until the latter part of the week.  Then we should really start feeling like autumn.  Temperatures will struggle to reach 50°F by next weekend.  We are seeing more colors developing on bushes and trees, and against the blue sky, it’s peaceful.  Just received a message that we have…

More Beautiful Weather In Mid Michigan

More Beautiful Weather In Mid Michigan

October couldn’t have come in any better than it did.  We could see highs near 70F today but winds are expected to be quite brisk.  This weather will probably only last another week or so as I’m seeing highs only in the 40s two weeks from now.  I guess we have to expect that as autumn moves on.  Our Fall season has been wonderful this year, so we really shouldn’t complain. Our 1:30 PM temperature is 66F, the humidity is…
