Damp But A Little Warmer – Mid Michigan

Damp But A Little Warmer – Mid Michigan

After a drizzly day on Tuesday, today was supposed to be much better.  It looks like the sun is trying to shine but still too many clouds in the way.  It was supposed to be partly cloudy this afternoon, and if that’s going to happen, it better hurry.  It will probably clear up after dark as usual.  Regardless,  temps are in the mid 50s and there is very little wind, so really not  too bad out there. Our 2:45 PM…

Still Cold In Mid Michigan

Still Cold In Mid Michigan

Today will be another chilly and gloomy day.  Rain is in the forecast but haven’t seen any yet.  This is more like November weather so maybe we’ll get our October weather in November this year.  Regardless, it is what it is and complaining will do no good.  At least it isn’t as windy today so that’s a good thing. Our 11:15 AM temperature is 48°F (9°C), the humidity is 78%, and skies are cloudy.  Winds are from the SW at…

Sunny And Windy In Mid Michigan

Sunny And Windy In Mid Michigan

Today feels just plain cold.  Not only is the high much below normal, but we have a strong wind to go with it.  At least the sun is out today, but we have more rain expected for tomorrow and every day the remainder of the week.  We did have a quick shower late Sunday afternoon which left 0.5″ in my rain gauge. There is also no warmup in the immediate future.  Where are those above average temps that they said…

Windy And Cold – Mid Michigan

Windy And Cold – Mid Michigan

To look out the window, it looks like a very nice day, but when you step outdoors, it isn’t as nice as it looks.  It is very windy and many of the leaves are blowing off the trees.  That’s going to take a lot of the color with it.  We had scattered, light lake effect showers yesterday afternoon.  We didn’t get much rain, but we didn’t need it either.  There was only 0.02″ in my gauge.  Last night was our…

Cloudy And Chilly In Mid Michigan

Cloudy And Chilly In Mid Michigan

Yesterday began with sun, but ended with moderate rain showers.  We received another 0.25″ of rain and the temperatures were dropping as the day went on.  Today will be much colder with highs only expected to reach the low 50s.  There is really no substantial warmup expected anytime soon, but I guess we shouldn’t be surprised since it is autumn. Our 11:15 AM temperature is 50°F (10°C), the humidity is 85%, and skies are overcast.  Winds are from the NW…

A Little Reprieve From The Rain – Mid Michigan

A Little Reprieve From The Rain – Mid Michigan

We had rain all day Thursday, which finally ended early last night.  In all, we had 1.35″ of rainfall.  Today is looking better but there is still a chance that we could have a few more raindrops.  The sky is mostly cloudy but the sun is maintaining a stubborn presence.  Temperatures won’t even make it to 70 today, and with the brisk wind, it feels even chillier.  We went shopping this morning and a few diehards are still wearing shorts,…

A Rainy Day In Mid Michigan

A Rainy Day In Mid Michigan

We woke this morning to a very wet scenario.  There was 0.42″ in my gauge at 8:30, so I know that it had rained most of the night.  We continue to have a steady rain and we can expect this to last most of the day.  Temperatures are mild but colder air will be moving in soon, and this will remain for at least the next week.  We are promised that the end of October will be mild with above…

Our Last Warm Day, Then . . . . .

Our Last Warm Day, Then . . . . .

Today will be the last summer-like day, possibly for the year.  Oh sure, we could see the 70s again but I doubt that it will reach the mid 80s anymore.  Being Michigan however, one never knows.  Today will still be somewhat sunny and rain will be moving in tonight.  The next four days are expected to be wet, and  possibly into the beginning of next week.  It’s still too early to make that prediction.  At any rate, it is now…

Still Enjoying Summer Weather – Mid Michigan

Still Enjoying Summer Weather – Mid Michigan

We are seeing temperatures in the mid 80s today.  That’s 20 degrees above where it should be, but who’s complaining?  Besides that, the humidity is low so it’s very comfortable.  Skies are completely clear and breezes are light.  There is no rain expected until Thursday, and then below average temperatures will set in.  We always have to pay for our out-of-season nice weather. Our 3:30 PM temperature is 86°F (30°C), the humidity is 42%, and winds are from the S…

Our Last Three Days Of Summer Weather – Mid Michigan

Our Last Three Days Of Summer Weather – Mid Michigan

These will be our final days of temps in the 80s, at least for now anyway.  I’m hoping that it will still happen again before the end of October, but I’m happy with the 70s also.  Regardless, we will certainly enjoy what we have before a drastic cool-down and rain on Thursday.  Temps next weekend aren’t even expected to reach out of the 50s.  That’s really a drastic change!  I’m seeing a big decrease in the bird traffic at my…
