Really Feels Like January . . . .
The deep freeze is upon us. Yesterday saw no thawing and we won’t see it today either. In fact, I don’t expect any melting for at least a few weeks. The big snow storm is still coming but will remain well to our south. It seems that Kentucky and Tennessee will get the brunt of it. Snow lovers will be disappointed.
Our 10:30 AM temperature is 23°F (-5°C), the humidity is 91%, and skies are cloudy but I see the sun trying to shine through the cloud layer. Winds are from the W at 4-12 mph and the pressure is 30.04 in (1017.3 mb) and steady. The wind chill is 16°F (-9°C). The dew point is 20°F (-7°C) and visibility is 2 miles. Yesterday’s high was 31°F (-1°C) and the overnight low was 22°F (-6°C). Record temps for Jan. 2 are 59°F (2004) and -10°F (2001). Sunrise was at 9:09 AM and sunset will be at 5:15 PM.
