We came back home yesterday and could see many flooded fields as we traveled through the Mt. Pleasant-Clare area. US 10, which passes Midland, was completely closed due to flooding. They are saying that this is a 500 year event and so many people are affected. These types of weather events are so sad as Mother Nature can be so cruel. This isn’t the first time that the weather forecast has changed from what it was supposed to be. Originally, it was supposed to start raining late Saturday night, all day Sunday, and be done by noon today. Not going to happen. Yesterday was very nice here in Indian River, but the next two days will be very wet and cold. We went down to the inlaw’s cabins on Lake Huron in Cheboygan yesterday afternoon, and couldn’t believe how much of their yard that was lost. Their flag pole is gone as are several trees which were near the shoreline. They will be coming up from Florida on June 1 and I sent Chris a message warning her of what to expect. …
Today is sunny with light breezes, and our 2:30 PM temperature is 62°F. It’s fine day for setting up our camp and getting outdoor stuff done. We drove up yesterday in light rain until we reached near Gaylord, then skies looked threatening but no more rain. It was dry when we reached the campground and we set up without a hitch.
